Just returned from a trip to Alberta, eh ... and wanted to post of my experience with my N800 after all the help fellow forum members have provided. Skyped my kids for free, listened to my music with Rhapsody (didn't like xmss), and read a few books with fbreader. Installed Opera and came to enjoy many of its features. Battery life was adequate and the overall experience with my new-old friend was excellent. Thanks to all who have breathed new life into my N800 with your suggestions and enthusiasm!

@fisherdmin, welcome back. Isn't there a subscription charge for Rhapsody, otherwise I might try it. I also used Skype heavily when I drove across Canada. If you use Google Calendar you might be interested in the latest version of mgCal.

@Den, you are correct that there is a subscription charge for Rhapsody. Music is my last vice and I willingly pay the ~$10.00 monthly fee.

Ok. Here is a shot of JESS fullscreen on my N800 with Xmms in shade mode at the bottom.

I used the spacebar on my BT kybd.

That's awesome!

And yeah, I have to remember how to remap the hardware keys since I don't have a BT keyboard. :(

Weird, since I'm the one who actually posted how it could be done. *lol*

Did you catch my wallpaper post moja?

Yeah, thanks. (I clicked thanks on your post.) That's pretty cool. I may have to use that, or come up with something along those lines myself.

If you come up with something else, make sure to post it here. :)

And yeah, I'm still digging all over how great Xmms sounds with the extra stereo plugin. :)

I need to still check out the cover viewer, it looks sweet! :)

Hey Den, you still use Pidgin daily, correct?

I'm just now really getting into it lately.

Anyway, what's your setup for this?

There's so many different plug-ins and preferences, it has me all confused.

The only plug-in I've installed so far is Qwerty's LED Notification one.

Thanks!

Re: An N800 Die-Hard

Yay!

I was able to get it full screen with this in Xterm.

xmodmap -e "keysym Return = space"

When you're done, changed the middle D-Pad button back with

xmodmap -e "keysym space = Return"

I actually like this. :)

Now to experiment with some of the other settings for JESS.
