What issues? I have no issues with either.

My device makes it through the day (12-14 hours). I consider this sufficient, although not very good. It is typical for modern smartphones too.

Pretty much no issues felt here. 99% of videos I throw at it play.

First two complaints that are actually valid. Seem to be avoidable by using third party software though.

This has nothing to do with Maemo or N900. Emulators you are talking about are third party applications. If you do not like them, write your own.

Ok. What "other devices"? And have you tried dedicated YouTube players for Maemo (as opposed to playing in the browser)?

Again, this has nothing to do with Maemo or N900. You should accept responsibility for your own actions.

Good, yet another valid complaint supported by evidence. That makes three of them.

I am in a lot of "low areas" here, and N900 seems to do better than the business-class E70.

Well, you will never become a radio pirate with N900, but maybe it is a good thing.

Sorry, I am not sure anyone can understand this one. It just mixes several unrelated things in two sentences.

Not sure if it is going to be useful, but I do suggest you spend some more time thinking before you post. You have got about 3/19 items right, as in "supported by evidence and posing a real usage problem".Believe me, 16% is not a very good hit rate.

You did not read the post in correct context, since from a smartphone buyer's perspective and all points are samples of posts in this forum- right or wrong. Just a sample of more to come.

Trace of truth = perception. Does not have to be real, but is to the user if they set their mind to it.

BTW, your arguements are from a non smartphone level user. Most people will not understand or not care- they just want the device to work and be dead simple to install apps. More to my point about the device not being smartphone friendly.

The MMS and portait quips are prime examples. Smartphoners expect it. Your recalcitrant (fanboy?) position is indicitave of the "culture" gap about to clash with this site.

I guess in an odd way I am a fanboy too (assuming you are, of course) since I love the media and web aspect ofthe N900. The issues I have will be corrected with updates. Most (70%) of the vids I play work and codec updates will fix the rest. MP3's stutter for me at start up about 10% of the time.

My main issue is the signal problem with GPRS. Some have the problem, but most do not.

Add to the fact that this site is the most intolerant, snubbish site I have ever come across in the over a decade I have been using the internet. The verbal attacks are going to be very interesting to watch.

Plus many here seem incable of taking anything slightly resembling a criticism of the N900. Case in point is the strange response to your well thought out and constructive point highlighting a few of the issues mainstream users will have with the device. Typical response here to any slight criticism of the device is "then sell the device"; "go back to your iphone", etc.

Um he did kind of come here to bash the N900 - by the looks of it he specifically joined the forums to post that he doesnt like the N900 and then listed all the reasons the iPhone was better.

Wife got my G1 - seems to like it well enough - but then she had a 5 year old Nokia before that and really only makes calls :)
