Re: Gimmicks you might have missed on the N900
When you connect your n900 to a Mac in Mass Storage mode, then delete some files via the Mac, this folder is created:
/home/user/MyDocs/.Trashes This contains the deleted items (think Trash or Recycle Bin), which could, eventually, take up a lot of valuable space. It's safe to delete this folder from the xterm (rm -R /home/user/MyDocs/.Trashes). I freed up about 6gb of space in doing so. >_< |
Re: Gimmicks you might have missed on the N900
Found a new one accidentally which I've not seen anywhere: -
Similar to typing a letter to jump to your contacts, if you enter a number it immediately brings up the phone. So e.g. from the desktop, blue arrow and P brings up the phone interface with a zero ready entered. Only minor issue then is that the blue arrow is then not needed for the rest of the number so you have to remember to let go of it. :p This is the quickest way to add a new contact - if someone gives you their number, you can type the number in, then from the top menu bar select New Contact to enter their name details. |

Better yet, there's an app that disconnects idle connections after a while.

FYI: It's the same as hitting the menu/multi-select button in the upper left corner. |
Re: Gimmicks you might have missed on the N900
for those of you having trouble viewing TMO on the n900 and don't like the minimalist theme solution (like me.) you can swipe in the cursor to a space between posts, lock it, and scroll the missing parts of the page with the right arrow key.
sorry poor explanation but if anyone can put it more elequently then feel free! |
