At the moment I have two N9 64GB (one in black and one in white, same firmware 1.1)
I have no wifi problems with the white one, whereas the black one has very weak wifi reception. As soon as the black device is a few meters from the access point the connection is very unstable. So the wifi is nearly not usable on the black one. The reception of the white one is great.
So I think in your case it is a hardware problem. The same as on my black one. I hope my device will be replaced by nokia.

I asked him again recently but he still hasn't responded.
He basically hinted that N950 devs should get it any day now.
Because the N9 will be ready by the 29th of Feb....

Battery usage app shows one of the entries as "Fenix Mail" so I think it is the email app
