I've been looking at all available pictures from the device so far and there's a couple interesting things to see.
At least at some point, the USB C port apparently was (or still is) on the long side of the phone, together with the 3,5mm jack.
The phone also sports two cut outs for camera related things, so I'd guess we get a single lens camera plus some AF module (flash window is also visible)
It also appears to be fairly thick, getting my hopes up for a large enough battery.

It has already been confirmed that neither of the sockets are at the side of the phone. Also, the headphone socket is at the TOP of the device. Those pictures you're sharing are old prototypes.

Short off topic: Friend was in a secret location alone in Asia and posted a picture from inside of his room. Saw a flyer on the table and was able to zoom a bit. After half an hour I posted information about the location and bungalow prices and flights which I could take and arrive in his secret location on the next morning. Boy he was annoyed. And when people are on facebook and have their exact location shown. Nice that the anguish that was here present has changed to anticipation.

It'd be hard to stand out with just a keyboard in a sea of folding phones, 5G announcements, tablet pillow things, Argus-like camera arrangements and the MateBook. Also, MateBook? That sounds like either a Tinder knockoff or rejected name.

Having had a look around the UBPorts website, this evening I dug out my old Meizu MX4 and upgraded from Ubuntu Touch to UBPorts.

Upgrade was easy, and everything looks as polished as I remember. Sadly I still find the UI just as irritating as before (and still features the same stupid behaviour that the volume buttons control ringtone volume even if the display is off - so it's easy to mute the ringer with the phone in your pocket)

I want to like it, but I just don't... I'd still have it in a heartbeat if the only alternative was android of course :)

(Forgot to add, you do get a terminal now, which wasn't the case under UT. That got me interested until I found python not installed, though that is probably fixable?)

They specifically use the word "launch" in their communication, but yea, it's very possible that this means nothing and that we'll still have to wait far too long.

Any idea what the two silvery "dots" could be at the top left side (portrait) of the device? I assumed this was the SIM slots, but it somehow reminds me of the older Xperia magnetic charging plugs...
