Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Morning this is my first post. I`m too waiting for my N900 ordered 7th November. First time ever that I bought something that wasn't on the market yet, my current N95 was well into its shelf life when I got it, why oh why did I hear about N900 sooo early, could have saved myself some of my nerves.. Anyway, today I received a screen protector I bought of ebay, no idea what quality will it be but at least I know roughly how big it is :D considering I`m nowhere near the big nokia stores to check it out.

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Not really bothered what it translates to, TBH - If I don't have shipping confirmation from MPD by 17:30 Friday, then I'm cancelling.

'N900retailer' seems pretty sure they will ship this week  though he's be wrong before (not his fault).
If they delay again saying 1.5 / 2 weeks, then I'm so considering cancelling... don't make me do it MPD!! |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Just before i go, i'm gonna post one more thing i think we might want to consider. Regarding the potential recall. Now i cant remember who said it but someone claimed that if there were a recall then nokia would have to make it public. This is not the case. That only happens when the product is being recalled for health and saftey reasons, ie might burst into flames. If its not a dangerous fault they wont make the recall public, I know this because were i used to work i was managing the warehouse and delt with ALL the product recalls. some where made public by the manufacturer, for instance a zanussi dishwasher that could potentially catch fire was recalled and zannussi made a press realese regarding it but other products with a manufactering fault that is not dangerous simply get recalled but no press release is done by the manfacturer. I'm hoping this isnt the case but if it is at least we may well all get devices with working mics!

I am not so desperately in need of a phone that I can't wait, my trusty E90 is still working perfectly well. If MPD can't get it out to me this week/early next week, I might consider cancelling and seeing what the competition has to offer in the coming months. |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
That’s it.. i think im done
I think i will cancel – shall see how i feel when i get home. It’s not probably 6 months until the next release of another maemo device (well – delayed release) – so why get one now im thinking – i could be 30 quid a month richer this way and wait for the new lovely impending after Christmas gadget’s that come out – after seeing the mess they made of the n97, im starting to worry about the mess they are now making with the n900 - at least with contacting their direct suppliers they need to give up MPD and Nokia UK and actually get some operators to supply these phones themselves - ie. direct through vodafone/o2 shops - I understand they didnt want this to be a smartphone - but they are kidding themselves by including GSM functionality. and just for a final kick in the teeth - rather than announcing future support for maemo 6 on the n900. They instead announce a new device in the pipeline for next year (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/11...ia_maemo_plan/) they really have taken the biscuit this time, looks like I may hang onto the n95 for a few more months on my sim only contract. Or just buy an n900 from a shop and get an o2 pay as you go sim (now offering unlimited net and texts for £15 top up a month) - sorry for rant, but as much as i knew it would happen - i really hoped this time i'd be wrong and this would actually arrive - i cant see myself getting a 3RD! PAC code. |

Expected December 2009 Expected date is subject to change without notice That's all I can find, doesn't sound like cast iron guarantee either. |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Between Nokia & MPD this has got to the, not only, the worst phone launch ever, but quite possibly the worst product launch (electronic) ever! As with most people, I just want the damn phone know, I'm away all next week and would love to have my new phone to play with whilst I have time to kill in the evenings.

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
This is probably the last straw for me.
Im not jumping ship, I want an n900, but maybe MPD is not the best route now. Im going to go to the NFS later today and talk to Jon and see what the best route is now and will post back... Too hacked off to mention  |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
That does it! If i don't get a shipping mail before Friday evening I'm canceling my order, MPD can lick my ****s.
I'll wait for CPW then, even if they're gonna get it in Jan. At least I'll be sure about quality customer service. |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Email sent FAO Karl Borges/Managing Director - I won't hold my breath on a response!....
FAO Managing Director, Mobile Phones Direct Limited. Hi, The last (and only) email I have received from MPD regarding pre-orders of n900 handsets stated delivery this week. I understand that you are probably swamped with requests regarding delivery right now and I understand that Nokia's dispatch delays are out of your control, however the overwhelming number of support requests you are fielding is purely due to the non-communication and mis-information coming from your support department. I would advise you to review this forum thread on the Maemo Forums, http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34964 - MPD support staff, as well as being curt and short with customers are clearly giving out differing information (1-2 days, 1-2 weeks, "no idea"...etc). The amount of mis-information and difficulty that customers have getting through to someone for a clear answer is staggering, and is seriously harming your businesses reputation on a very public forum. Your website still states "Delivery during late November", which is clearly not the case now, and your assurances of exclusivity have been seriously called into question over the last few days. For everyones sake, including your own, please take a more proactive approach to keeping your customers informed - since a large number of them appear to be on the Maemo forum, I would suggest that someone who has all the facts subscribes to that thread and keeps users informed - alternatively send out *regular* email updates and ensure that your staff who answer the phones and the webchat have the correct information to hand. This should help pacify the mass of angry consumers and ease the level of support requests that you are having to field at present and stop further damaging stories about MPD customer service. |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I've just about had it with n900, when it was announced it seemed so far ahead of it's time, so more advanced than anything else out there, I just had to have one. Too much time has passed, the n900 seems old, nokia themselves are even talking of it's replacement, other fruity sounding devices have been announced and even released before anyone can still tell me when I might receive an n900.
It's time to takeback control, I am now the only person in the world who knows when I will receive my n900; never. Thank you nokia, thank you mpd, you have saved me £500, and I get to keep my iPhone 3gs. I won't get back the months of my life you stole from me waiting on your every words, but you won't take any more from me. |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
Is it worth trying to contact Nokia, to see if they really are creating the MPD delays? Just kinda say, "look MPD keep blaming you, are you really this incompetent or are they telling porkies?".
Doubt anyone would really get anywhere with this but it could just be worth it, but who do you ring? |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I just called f**king MPD and he said all pre-orders will be delivered in 2 weeks! I hate them all and from this very minute i decided to cancel my order!
