Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
got it working again. The only problem I have now is that the videos I downloaded like the ae particles, rain, train etc used to play in full screen, now it's like playing in 4:3. Is there a fix for this? Thanks for the app. It's really great. If there was a mute I could just use nokia n900s welcome video.

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Thanks Vlad, this is awesome.
I'm curious as to how this works. Is each xscreensaver hack modified to have a dbus interface? Also, do you use gstreamer to play the videos? If so, the following wiki page might be useful to people having problems with choppy video. http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_Video_Encoding |

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Live Wallpaper has issues when rotating in the Menu (CSSU)
When you are running the live wallpaper, go to the menu and rotate phone so the screen will also rotate.... This will show you the half of the live wallpaper. Maybe it's better to stay as it is like the real desktop background? :) So now that we have portrait mode in the menu, will Live Wallpapers also be fixed? :) |
Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
There has been several post about jerky video performance on PR1.3 with Live Wallpaper, is there any solutions for that? I have tried videos posted in here and tried to re-encode some of them to x264 and various resolutions with no success.

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
I've asked this before but it probably got lost in the other requests ...
I'm running the photoslideshow in live wallpaper. But the normal theme background images are still visible next to/'behind' the photos. also when the picture is blurred due to losing focus because of a foreground action, then I'm getting a bad/weird mixture of a blurred theme background and a blurred photo from the live wallpaper. Is it possible to blacken the background first and then put the photo on, when using the photo slideshow ? Changes are required anyway for the cooperation with the cssu, so maybe ... please? :) thanks. |

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Is there any chance of being able to incorporate this into the live wallpaper application?
Oculo: web content to your home screen! It would be great to get live web page updates full screen in the background.of your desktop. |

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Any idea what causes the flash wallpaper to show a white screen instead of the .swf file?
Thanks |
Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Wrong version of swf file. N900 can read only up to ver 9, 10.x is not supported. It also supports ActionScript 2.0.
BTW, I've created a simple flash wallpaper for LiveWallpaper program. This is a first flash I've created so sorry for any bugs there and that it's not as good as it could be. I've started flash programming today really :D Anyway, here's a screenie: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll91/qtit/DIGN.png And here's a download link: Digital Nature There are three files there, first is the HD version which can spawn up to 4 flowers, the LD spawns only 2 while SN spawns only one. Hope you like it a bit. |
Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Wrong flash version is not the answer in this case, as I had the wallpaper working fine on my n900 and another user could not get it working on theirs. As far as I know we had both flashed our phones back to stock and reloaded everything and he was still having issues.

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
In that case, I am sorry but I have no idea...

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
Take a look here:
http://www.artdigitaldesign.com/desk...period=&page=1 it has many interesting interactive flash wallpapers that can be downloaded (set the resolution for each downloaded to 800x480) |
Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
I've been looking around at that site, but the resolution settings you make there are saved in a htm file, not in the flash script itself. Is there a way to load the htm file in LiveWallpaper, so the resolution gets set correctly?

Re: Live Wallpaper discussion thread
There seems to be a problem with the flash player:
1. enable a flash wallpaper 2. switch to its desktop 3. launch htop 4. you can see that for each activated desktop with the flash wallpaper there are 2 processes instead of one. this is eating much more memory and affects performance i believe. the player for the flash used on my device is kmplayer and i can see 6 of its processes when i enable 3 different flash wallpapers. if i disable them, all processes are gone. |
