Guys i need help. I cant flash to the new 1,2 firmware:(:(

The Skype videocall IS working:

I have tested with OSX Leopard and latest Skype version but the Video from the phone did not show on the computer.
However on Windows 7 with latest Skype version the video works 2 ways.
Tested over local Wifi and 3G. Acceptable video quality from desktop Skype to phone.

Lousy video from phone to computer. Early 90's video quality.

But we are on the right track.

Noticed the Camera starts up with a question if you wish to use geo-tagging.
Tried it and the satelite lock took only 5 seconds. Photo gets tagged with the location. Neat!!! :D

The version from Rapidshare, is THE SAME with that on Megaupload.
Is not "tweaked" or something.

Me too, though my hand is forced because I left my cable plugged into my work pc!!!
All Im interested in is the update to Ovi maps, so I can wait til the official release and let you lot iron out any bugs ;)

So annoyed that maemo flasher does not work for 64 bit - or at least I can't get it too

I know I can install linux from cd but I am totally clueless about linux so it would just be annoying

Hopefully the real thing will be very soon

Admittedly...this is awesome! Some major improvements, but still a slow media player. I have around 26GB of music on there, still takes its time to load fully! Overclocking (900mhz) makes it EXTREMELY quick to scan for files, but drains my battery like mad!!! Nevertheless, what can I expect with so much music eh? and from a Linux users point-of-view, this is one heck of an awesome phone and awesome update :)

Ok, I was wrong and I'm happy that was wrong :) After the reboot the video recording got back to normal i.e no more just ~600kbps its now ~3300kbps for widescreen and ~3100kbps for 4:3 fine video didn't bother to try the low 4:3 one ;)
However, the video in gtalk is still missing coz I had the option to do video in skype.

Yes that was my point. It seems some people are so quick to want to criticise you for holding back for a while. :rolleyes:

Mine is:

But its not working for me to flash:( plz help pros.

it does but you'll have to go through hell to get it to work. It might as well killing all of your USB lol.

Why not install a virtual PC? Running it inside the 64Bits, it will work just fine :)

Hi,

I downloaded the firmware, and am about to flash it soon.
(Yes I know the risks).
My question is :
1. I don't have a microSD card, just the built in 32gb.
2. I have done a backup using the backup app.
3. Do I need to copy it to an external storage via ssh or something? or will it remain intact after flashing PR1.2 (RC) for me to restore?

Yes it will be there. After the reflash just go to the backup app and there will be it and just do restore. and No you don't have to copy it to somewhere external

Everything on your built in 27gb of available user space will remain. Ie, the backup will be still there.

its impossible to check for malware, firstly because windows malware wont work in a unix environment and secondly if someone has modified this firmware and added a backdoor to allow for hacking then there's not any way to tell!

anyhoo I'm gonna wait for the official release, and start from a fresh device, I dont want to flash this and then flash again when the official one comes out

Isn't there a conversations bug with this leaked update? Maybe that's why Nokia haven't released it officially.

Your probably right, but if there is any problem with this version...u can reflash with the official one, when is released.
We can test this version, untill nokia decide to release the final PR1.2

This is the command you give ok copy and paste it....

flasher-3.5 -F
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.12-9_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

everything is case sensitive ok.

Extras-Devel repo won't work.

It search for freemantle-1.2 folder.

Extras-Testing search for freemantle-1.2 folder too, butit work becuse the folder exsist.

Or for the less difficult option : Create a new .txt file inside the folder with the flasher executable. Then open it, paste "flasher-3.5 -F
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.12-9_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R" inside without the " " s, and save. Rename the extension to .bat, and double click.

Done.

One thing that has not been mentioned is in the phone settings there is now a
Home Network Data Counter and a Roaming Network Data Counter.

Has anyone tested the video calling in skype? Has the front camera firmware been tweaked as well? Current image quality (PR 1.1.1) is not acceptable for video calls i think..
