No. the battery is shown some value, nitdroid read it higher than ?/maemo/real battery or what. Anyhow, maemo read a lower value than nitdroid and that is why 'sometime' the red light crash. You can avoid the red light if you keeps battery well above low, i.e., in nitdroid I guess is 50 or lower.

hello bun i have a quick question:
i tried to remove nitdroid everything was ok but i can't remove the partition from my sd card.
i tried this command:
sfdisk /dev/mmcblk1 << EOM
,,C
,,
,,
,,
EOM

sync

mkfs.vfat /dev/mmcblk1p1

but i can't erease it cause my card is in use?
don't know why cause it isn't.

@atilla You just want a clean card, right? There are many ways to skin a cat. I would just stick it to a winPC, and remove partition and format. If problem, panansonic low level formatting, google it. I have yet to find a SD card that failed panasonic low level if it is NOT phyiscally damaged.

hmm i don't have a card reader but i tried it with press and hold on sd card in filemanager then i choosed format and it worked!!
very weird but now its ok ;)

A card reader is about $1 in us. Dont know about Germany. Try dealextreme.com, very reliable, it takes 1 month to get something though, or you can pay more to get it quick. You can get a usb R/W card reader shipped, about $1. I got 4, works good. I use to give these as Xmas gift to family, and they love it.

File manager format according to your partition, check what is the space, use diskusage, if it is not the full capacity, you should redo it.

hmm.... i cant get rid of flight mode..... i ve reflashed maemo.... installed nitdroid with autoinstaller on a clean sd card..... first nitdroid strtup was in flight mode.... then i ve tryed to enter

sudo gainroot
mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cd /and/data
rm -rf *
mkdir logs
chmod 777 logs
cd /
umount /and

and i m still in flightmode....

Just recently got stuck in flight mode as well. Followed posted solution (rm / logs). Didn't help. Ended up re-installing nitdroid. Working fine again.

My questions is what now? Is there a top 10 things you should do once you've got it thread?

What are the apps that people are installing that you just can't get on maemo?

you guys know that you have to disable the pin code on your sim card in maemo to get the damn flight mode off???

no its ok i got the full 8gb now(7,6)thanks to the format but i will buy a new pc soon with integrated card reader.

Check out the nitdroid forums. There is a lot of info on apps etc., and a couple of ways to fix the market. Probably depends on the user as to what they're missing from maemo. I know I've used some golf apps, better free nav (with a bluetooth gps currently), other stuff.

@atilla good point, I'd forgotten about that (not my problem, don't use a pin code at all).

The red light issue is solved when im use original charger, usually i use desktop charger :D

I am running into this problem.

I partitioned and installed all the multiboot stuff. No problem.

But then when I ran nitdroid, I got this:


Good! Here we go.

Unmounting /dev/mmcblk1p1 ...done
Uninstalling any incompatible software ...FAILURE. Bailing out.

I am using PR 1.3 with kernel-power.

Any helps???

Note: I was not stuck anywhere. I had all partitioned formatted already and had no errors before this.

Check MyDocs/.nitdroid. The installer downloads the files there. It will check to see if they are in the folder. If they are it should skip downloading them again. It does check with the nitdroid server to get an updated list of files and will download any missing ones.

If you have the files elsewhere, just copy them to the MyDocs/.nitdroid folder.

all seemed to install but on booting nitdroid i get the following

Chroot: cannot execute init: permission denied
[16.312927] Kernel panic - not syncing : attempted to kill init!

any idea how to fix

I have not been able to get Power42 to work.. Can anyone help?
I followed the instructions. Failed. Tried many combinations.. Failed.

Can anyone who has got it working help me with 2 things:

Two, where did you get your power42 kernel from?

I got power42 working. And I am using the same procedure to get onto power44... give me half an hours, I will post what you need. For the time being, see whether you can follow thread #1. I follow that too. These kind of mod, unless you do it everyday, it is more safe to follow what has been working. I got power44 installed, but would need to do the mod "red box picnic..." Installation should be straight forward, getting the bootmenu is pain in the ***... DO NOT PROCEED if you have NOT installed multiboot yet, the current power44 assume some bootmenu ALREADY installed, without that, it will keep looking for the bootmeu and may end up a boot loop ...

How can it find P40 when it does not exist?

Done. Power44 is 100% working. omap1 boot fine, power44 boot fine, nitdroid is fine, fcam is working. pics attached. I am now start puting down how I did it, so that I can follow myself, say nitdroid 0.0.9 or power46.

I got it from app manager. Trust me, installation is a piece of cake. Problem is to get the bootmenu fix.

I'm not sure if I want to use Nitdroid.
... and I don't want to have a boot menue every time I restart.


I'm waiting for another way to run NitDroid.


E.g.:
You put in a SD-Card with NitDroid and it will start NitDroid.
If you put away the SD-Card with NitDroid it starts maemo.

Isn't that possible?

Another possibility could be:
If you open the camera cover it starts NitDroid. If you let the cover closed it starts maemo.
