Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Thanks Kawguchi. It's amazing that there are games running at 25/30 fps with 600mhz. Have to do some testing myself.

I tried nearly every combination of options, but the game stays choppy. Oh well... Btw Bonapart what about cd change option? It would be useful in some games(in those in which you can't save before the change). EDIT: pcsx-rearmed(OCed to 1GHz of course): Same options as on the video and Grand Turismo 2 on simulation disk doesn't crash and it's fully playable(I did one lap on dirt track) Warcraft 2 sadly freezes after a minute or two. Civilization 2 works great Baldur's Gate - works great, but didn't test it too much. No point without CD change option Fifa 2005 - works great |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
so, any ideas about my sgx out of mem error?
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

@Tedri Mark sgx out of mem is created by sgx hardware so possible reasons 1. game require to much video memory (tekken3 have big resolution for ex; enabled hwa option and aa option) 2. you cpu(gpu is part of it) is damaged(broken) or can't work with overclock(or changed voltage? ) for first you can switch core(disable hwa in psx4m) for second use stock kernel p.s. which game cause this? tried another version (pal\ntsc) ? p.p.s. i also have report about freezing ff8\9 at cd3 |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
would it be possible to have psx4m-gui filter .bin files so it only displays a single entry when the game has multiple files ?
e.g Wu-Tang - Taste the Pain (Europe) >Wu-Tang - Taste the Pain (Europe) (Track 01).bin >Wu-Tang - Taste the Pain (Europe) (Track 02).bin >* >Wu-Tang - Taste the Pain (Europe) (Track 15).bin |

Like I say Mupen is working fine, overclocked to 1.15Ghz... Bizarre... |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Okay, oddly enough it is working with *some* games and not others (one which previously worked fine, annoyingly enough)
San francisco rush works, as does medal of honour (although either i have a broken rom or the emulation is not working as halfway through the first level, the scenery just comes toan end and I can't advance... i'll copy some more games across and repot back... |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I've tried so far pacman world works great and Jackie chan sometimes slows down a bit specialy when I reload a previous stored state
thanks for your work @bonapart |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I've connected my ps3 controllers with n900 and works fine with Nintendo 64 emulator. But When I try to use it with the ps1 emulator, it isn't detected even when I try to assign keys
(Controller is definatly connected to nokia n900) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Any ideas?

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I'm experiencing same issue, does anyone have a work around for this. Any help would truly make my day :)
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
on the 1st page of the mupen64 post theres a bit of code that stops the ps3 pad emulating key presses so it can work properly, if you used that then it wont work in any other emulater till u reactivate it, just my thoughts on the matter

You were correct, this is the case. (When conversations is open and I press controller buttons, no characters appear)
What can I do to make the ps3 controller work with PSX4M |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
New to psx4m-gui!
Just tried Driver-US version. Game works fine without sound in PCSX rearmed. It does 'work' in psx4m, but is terribly lagged and unplayable. Annoyingly, the whole thing lags like hell when sound is turned on in pcsx rearmed. it's like it skips every second. Really annoying because the emulation is superb otherwise. Any settings I can alter to make it run smoother? Currently running my n900 at 900mhz. |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
hey guys^^
i've experienced huge differnece with the psx emulator after i installed the 720p support pack, overclocked the dsp to 600MHz and locked the device at 900MHz CPU clock (installing the 720p support pack provides overclocking the dsp) i don't know if installing the pack was the reason but here is my repot: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (U) runs about 40-50 fps with soud enabled settings: core: pcsx-rearmed sound enabled threaded sound disabled bios disabled frameskip set to ntsc advanced settings are all disabled (if you disable sound you can disable the frameskip too and it will run as smoothly as on psx ;)) i hope this will help with speed improvements in psx emulation on n900 |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
r12 (2011-12-24)
+ new ARM NEON GPU rasterizer from Exophase( by default) + new GPU emulation code * changed frameskip handling (again..), higher values supported * fixed several more regressions from earlier versions * changed cdrom code with hope for better compatibility happy psxmas // will be available in one hour |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
so it should be available - http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...0.12_armel.deb ( use apt-get update && apt-get upgrade instead downloading deb to avoid problems in future )
Acidspunk try first ;-) warning: do not overclock, this version use neon functions that can't work properly after big oc (800-900 is max) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Tried a few games at 900mhz and most seem to have locked framerates of 25 or 30 fps. Awesome! :) Thanks for the Christmas present, Bonapart. Perfect timing! :D
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
most of work was done by notaz and exophase
next planned release of pcsx-rearmed will be before new year ( disabling fps show, switching gpu, vibro support , maybe even changing cd support) |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Bazza you should install ONLY psx4m-gui (read first post)
if you download packages manually install 4 packages (psx4m-gui psx4m psx4m-gles pcsxrearmed) cuz gui depend on all 3 cores ( you can force install gui & pcsx, but it's very bad way) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Hmm, I dont know if I installed the update correctly. I OC'd to 1000 just for kicks and it seems that is running just fine (a little better than before) .
And yes, using psx-rearmed. |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
updated pcsx-rearmed, psx4m-gui
now we can use one of 4 gpu for pcsx-rearmed Quote:
gui was fixed due to bug with gpsp-gui, so set bios&rom directory again |

Also, will that update all installed programs with available updates? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Bonapart I'm amazed.
805mhz no sound neon gpu frameskip ntsc/pal No framelimit With these settings, most games run amazingly well and much faster than before. Even games that ran at an unstable or slow framerate in the previous version will run much better now because of the no framelimit option. Ridge Racer type 4 and Rage Racer had low and unstable framerates for example and now they run perfect. Thank you so much for this! |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Tedri Mark use apt-get, it's right way! steps is standard: root; apt-get update; apt-get upgrade; Y
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Good work bonapart,
I updated mine with app manager and it seems OK it runs really well with sound off. i don't overclock and tried need for speed 1, need for speed Porsche unleashed, need for speed high stakes and crash bandicoot 1 they all run exceptionally well, its a shame that playing with sound slows them down. I will also update the game compatibility list. maybe a silly question does pcsx-rearmed in any way overclock the n900 ? |

I'm given the two options, and I can go in and select them, but they don't seem to be saved, as if I tap the blurred area to get out of that menu, no games appear, and if I press either of the menus again, I'm back at the root directory... Recently, my phone name had a '$' character added to the front of it I believe when my storage ran out whilst recording a phone call, could this be something to do with it? (It didn't affect the previous install of psx4m, however...) |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Tensuke neon_gpu used by default can became unstable and harm your phone if you use OC ... so do it on your own risk
Tedri Mark: try this chown -R user:users /home/user/.config/Team16 i moved config to other location(to avoid conflict with gpsp-gui), so it's my fault ;-) Bazza no , it use stack config, and as i said avoid OC with gpu-neon (only 800-900, not more) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I just noticed that you don't need to overclock at all with this version of the emu. 0_0 Same settings as before, but stock clock. Games run at the same speed.
