A new version is available:

• Added an option to open all songs from a folder.
• Stopping the playback on exit is now the default behavior.
• New translations: Russian by wow23, Czech by Linnar.
• When changing song/radio, info is updated even in the stopped state.
• The radio window displays better info and looks more like the stock one.
• Added an option to edit radio bookmarks.

The first feature might be interesting for people who want to create a playlist from a folder. To do so, go to the player settings and check an option called "Open whole folders". Whenever you've got that enabled, selecting a song from a file browser (like the stock one or FileBox) will not only play that song, but also make a playlist from all songs contained within its folder. For this to work, you need to either replace the stock player (instructions on the wiki page), or have the player opened in the background before selecting a song.

With this version, a few (3, IIRC) translatable strings have been added. If you're one of the translators and care to provide an update, go to http://gitorious.org/~gidzzz/qt-medi...es/master/lang to obtain the latest files to work with.

I've corrected corrected Polish translation (many minor fixes - typos, some orographic errors etc.) - I've used openmediaplayer.pl.ts from:
http://gitorious.org/~gidzzz/qt-medi...es/master/lang
...so I'm not sure if it contains those new 3 strings (ho ever, I downloaded it *after* new version of OMP was released). Corrected version in attachment.

Hi! i really love this program but just two problems are preventing me from using it as a replacement.

1. it doesnt seem to work with headset control where i can use the headset to pause or change tracks

2. it doesnt work with TV Player either. the streams never seem to open when i use OMP to replace the stock media player!

if u could sort these out i would be so grateful!!

after updating, i found option in setting for "open whole folders"... but... what does it do and in what way???

where is option to create pls from folder(s)??? :confused:

tested and it is working

also, it don't remember settings after OMP restarts...

"open whole folders" check-box is unchecked, and "size of automatic playlist" when changed is not remembered (showing blank field instead)

i think you should only put an option into "playlist" view for "playlist from folder", and when pressed, to popup dialog for selecting which folder to play music from! and when it generate playlist, to show it, with "shuffle all" button on top (like for all other playlist it generates/imports/etc) this is good if you have sub-folders with music...
consider that, i think it could be a best way (or maybe you had something other on your mind???)

needles to say, but: kudos to you! ;)

Hi,

some features request:

* while in car mode, add FMTX toggle button enable/disable + info if enabled with the freq
* add PlayTo functionality, so all media available to OMP be playable on remote DLNA renderer
* add video playlists
* enable DLNA client while connected through GPRS/OpenVPN (currently enabled only if connected through WIFI)

As said back here, this is similar to the problem i get when playing songs from the unknown artist, unknown album section. Song will play, but it shows the wrong song, and the scroll bar does not work to advance the track/skip. i will investigate further when i get a chance. There must be something different in the way that OMP plays compared to standard media player.

Cpu will jump to 100 percent and needs a killall to stop.

Have You tried opening it with standard text editor (notepad++, or something similar)?

.ts is also a type of media file (video, in particular), so You may have it's mime associated with media player. Still, it doesn't prevent from editing it with notepad++.

id like to put up a question here about a harmattan port possibility. MAG is having the worst luck mostest everest with his N950 i guess otherwise we might already have something. he said on #harmattan theres plenty of rewriting to be done, so im querying about who else is interested. MAG if youre following, perhaps you could reiterate what needs to be done afayk.

my primary motivation is coding a drummer specific mode on top of an existing media player. it would make terribly little sense to start re-implementing yet another media player from scratch. but im not equipped with resources on the porting part. i'd rather focus on my niche effort in the little time i have. looking at current state of harmattan media players, its nothing to write home about, OMP is quite a bit ahead and sounds like it would totally fit the bill.

Ah, so that's why we don't have so long-awaited update of HEN GUI, MAG is playing with new toy ;) Well, it seems than fact about N950 being "those cursed device" got another meaning...

Seriously though, good luck with porting. Despite me wishing all N950 end their life in rather violent conditions, it may be good base for OMP for Nemo @ Mer. Still sounds to be quite waste of time - porting it to harmattan, instead of Mer/Nemo directly, but...

Finally I give it a try. After several hours OMP stuck CPU to 100%. As I am not the only one to report it, a more serious investigation should be done I think.

If that could help it happened after I pause music from MP widget. Not sure whether it happened immediately or after a while, as I saw that something is wrong when my n900 got warm.

Is constant refreshing of videos list ("Videos - latest" view) necessary?

After deleting - refresh, after playback - refresh. It`s really annoying, when each time I must scroll down through long list: scroll down (i.e.) 3 screens, play video, you are again on the top, scroll again 3 screens to play next video...
Newest version crashed here few times when deleting videos, changing volume level with hardware keys (when OMP launches) and browsing files in "Videos - latest" view.

- can u add car view for internet radio also?
- also, in car view, i think the order of display should be changed - instead of artist / album / song should be artist / song / album, or a clock on top and artist/song.
only my opinion.

the player is very cool! thanks for the rewrite!

but (yeah, it is a "but"-post, but only a little one) if you change the volume via gui (not hw-keys) and tap somewhere on the screen, the volume bar stays visible when in stock player the bar pops back and play/pause etc. are visible again.

hope you get what i am trying to say ;)

btw never had any crashes with the last 3 (?) versions.

i really like the omp :)

He's not. I have the same problems, but I already solved them, you have to install CSSU. If you already have cssu...I cant help you =(

EDIT: Tried to open OMP with te stock widget and same problem here. I have to try a few times to show up properly the app.

Anyway, I've thoroughly tested it with bock Nicolai's Open Source replacement media player widget, and with stock widget. Without single issues.

Sorry, I have no idea why it isn't working for You guys. Could other people confirm/deny this?

i am testing it..dont know what changes were made but so far no more crashes..not one..but the play button on widget stopped working..:(
