Right... I did get a reply from them.

I did a bit further investigation. I found out that domain name is registered very recently. Administrative contact address is in Kuala Lumpur. The physical web server (IP-address) is located in Chicago...

All of the above didin't get my trust up...

It's an almost sure scam. The short list of products which are mostly difficult to get items at way below average market prices is a dead giveaway.

FYI, on Newegg the price is now 630. Save a couple bucks. Good to see it's getting easier for US buyers. I'm waiting though for a 64GB. Might jump on the Amazon seller.

I just called mobilecityonline:

1) The phones (64gb) are from China.

2) They claim that for warranty you'd have to mail them overseas and Nokia USA would tell you where / how. He was talking about the process taking 60-90 days.

I also contacted FGS Trading, who sells them on Amazon, with some questions (origin, warranty, etc). Never got a reply.

Yes, got the same reply from MobileCity: made in China

I've contacted FGS Trading before, they simply told me they refuse to give me that information. Then I used another account and asked them a list of question one of which was the make, and they responded to every single one except the make. lol. So definitely made in China.

So far only Yellow Deals has them from Finland.

edit: and by the way, it's pretty interesting that Lumia 800 is also apparently having lots of hardware issues and guess what? also made in China from that one famous factory. Nokia's own factories weren't equipped yet so their Finland shipments came a little later and at smaller numbers.

Generally one were to assume that products made in Finland (or anywhere in Europe for that matter) are of a higher quality than that made in China. It may or may not be the case (China was valuable because they were good enough and cheap) anymore but I'd still probably lean that way.

That said, some from Handtec were apparently a little defective though still being made in Finland. Think most of that though was software being a very early version.

I have no idea. You'd have to email CS and even then they might not know. I'd like to think Finland but you never know. I would think China has far more manufacturing prowess for this but you never know.
I'm waiting just a bit more myself. I'm busy right now and I know prices will eventually fall just a bit more into my self-defined price range...which seems to fluctuate every time I check and N9 post. ;)

Going by our local Malaysian forum there are very few cases of defective made in China N9s. A couple of cases where the phone couldn't power up but they were solved by flashing. I don't think anybody should worry too much about being made in China or Finland. Lot's of forum members here already bought N9s from Asia and do you see an unusual number of complaints? There are more complaints of defective Finland made N9s from Handtec than China.

It was nothing to do with software. It was faulty hardware, an (unspecified) problem with the motherboard.

Oh, really? I didn't know that. I was checking in on it infrequently but I had just heard of reboots and stuff like that and many thought maybe it was just a SW problem that would be fixed with 1.1.

Of course it's a scam. The price is unfeasibly low. If it was really that low, they'd be out of stock because another retailer would buy all their stock and resell it much closer to the market price.

I agree. I think there's prejudice against units made in China, but not a lot of empirical evidence to support that.

If we were buying cold-cure salmon, reindeer meat or salmakki, I would have a strong preference for 'Made in Finland' over 'Made in China'. With high technology, I just want it to work, regardless of where it was born.

i just called my aunt i Cambodia, 16gb for $495 and 64gb for $555 with local Nokia Ltd warrenty. Without warenty price drop $20 for each model. i am so suprise and cant wait to go get it. i am leaving to Cambodia on December 8th, i will check it out if they have white.

a bunch of the european expansys sites have the white for pre order at, yep, you guessed it, exorbitant prices. I had my friend in Spain pre order it for me. Expansys Spain, Poland, Norway and I think Portugal and Italy all are showing it for pre order. Both the 16 and 64GB. Uk isnt showing it yet.

I think it's a limited time offer. Never ordered from there before but reviews look decent enough.

Me personally gonna wait till officially sold in US so it comes with proper warranty, or wait till price goes down a little more and order from newegg.com with the newegg warranty add-on.

I got mine from Amman Jordan, made in China. Screen and everything is well and fine. Flashed PR1.1 without problem.

There are issues with my email....where I am unable to connect, font is way too small and no way too adjust it and few other issues people have mentioned. the call quality markedly improved with PR1.1, although still laggy at times especially when app opened (messages) and trying to press send or other buttons doesnt react immediately.
