damn that was fast the alternative LG Product for the dead GW990 called Ally and based on Android 2.1 is getting set up with specs and a own Homepage.. MS Kin will come to Verizon Stores tomorrow anything is in a fast flow and we still wait for a damn Patchset called PR1.2...

the Information was that the GW990 alternative is getting ready to start but sure its no more Maemo or Meego who cares .. maybe thats why the Thread is in General and not under N900 hmmm ...

How do the launch of the ally and kin affect the n900?

Ally is the formerly planned GW990 Device now on Android and no more as the first Meego Device. MS Kin and Ally are at the Moment the newest Device that will come up. I just wanted to show how fast the Development at the Mobile Sector goes while we still wait on a Patchset for the formerly best Device at the Market the N900.. This Thread is about the sad history of the N900 until now if you read the Thread Title..

But the n900 is already out. We aren't waiting for its launch. I'm sorry but I don't see how a firmware update and a phone launch are in any way similar

While you're talking about a firmware update... I'm waiting on MeeGo to show up and utilize the existing hardware. At least LG had something to show; and it got canceled and with the information about MeeGo on the N900 coming from very few sources yet nothing shown yet... it's getting harder to believe when the only running MeeGo prototype that looked rather damn good mind you, got canceled.

What the person you're inquiring to "might" be saying (I'm assuming a lot and don't mind admitting I could be very wrong) is that with the LG now being canceled and nothing else concrete been shown yet (for the impatient) it doesn't look like MeeGo is coming out of the gate at full gait.

The LG GW990 wasn't running meego though. It was running moblin
