please help i get an error unable to install packages missing

im using teh nokia 770, followed instructions from here http://gaim.garage.maemo.org/ to teh T reinstalled fresh latest OS2006 for the life of me i just cant get it to work. ty in advance.

As much as I like Gaim/Pidgin on the N800, I just wish it were far more integrated into the existing infrastructure of the N800 (address book, etc...)

Has anybody looked into using libOSSO and libpurple together so that support for AIM/MSN/ICQ/etc is integrated into the current interface (instead of having it separate)? I've taken a quick glance, but not really enough to know if it's fully possible or not.

Hi, all!

I have a new Web site and a new release:

http://pidgin.garage.maemo.org/ is the new Web site, and
2.0.0-1nix2 is the new release. It has absolutely no changes from the last release, except that now there's (hopefully working) sametime support.

Hey all,

Has anyone run across an issue with the latest build of Pidgin whereby the moment you login the system disconnects you? I have just setup Pidgin on my 770, and can run the app and create an account (Yahoo). When I login on my 770 I can tell that it works momentarily (via the open Yahoo IM client on my PC), but then Pidgin on my 770 immediately disconnects and shuts down.

Any ideas?

I have a similar problem, If I enable a Yahoo account the app crashes.

I opened a ticket on it.

I am requesting some assistance installing pidgin with a nokia 770.

I just upgraded my firmware because it was not working with my older one.

I added the 3 repositories that I saw for the 770 at: http://pidgin.garage.maemo.org/

I then go to install new applications and go to 'instantmessaging' where I see all the Pidgin clients and protocol's

When I try and grab the client, pidgin.. and install it: It downloads it 1.65MB, this takes a few seconds for the download meter to fill up. Once this completes a message pops up Unable to download. Package not found [ok]

Thats all I get. Before I was getting different errors before I upgraded the firmware of OS 2006. But now I get this and I am unable to debug.

Any help for me??

After reinstalling Gaim 1.5, after doing the latest OS upgrade, my Yahoo account cannot login anymore, it stops halfway trying to connect.

On my pc I can use the account, so Yahoo isn't the problem.

Uninstalled Gaim 1.5 completely, and installed Pidgin (2.0.0-1nix2) as explained on the Pidgin website. Shows the same symptom: on startup, it keeps trying to connect ('Connecting' in the status-bar). The app seems to run fine otherwise, everything is responsive. I fiddled a bit with network-settings in Preferences, to no avail.

Gaim 1.5 was working fine with the Yahoo account on the previous OS version; the N800 runs perfectly fine after the latest OS upgrade, nothing fancy, no dev-stuff, some trusted applications (Canola e.a.).

Any ideas/suggestions?
