After you switch the option you must stop all browser windows. The next one you start after that will be the other browser. (It's not that easy to see the immediate difference, but if you just start the browser (no bookmark start) then MicroB starts with a different, yellow start page)

And if you've replaced the default start page, "about:config" should only be supported by the MicroB browser.

I have done that: Closed the browser(s) after changing the setting. Still next time I start the Browser still the old setting is seen in the "Set Engine" tab. If I do that change in the .browser file directly then it does change the browser engine.

To test I use just www.cvs.com web site: It shows correctly with MicroB but with Opera they forward to another page telling that my browser is not supported... When I try to toggle that "Set Engine" switch, close the browser and then reopen it, the browser engine has not changed. Only the direct edit to .browser file will do...

Close all browser windows. Open an empty window. Check if it's opera or microb (you see thatfrom the default page, unless you've changed it). Select other engine. Close browser, start again. Unless you have changed the owner of .browser to root or something this should show the other browser engine is executing.

There is another quick way to see which browser you are currently using:
The progressbar of microb goes faster from left to right than it's Opera counterpart.

OK... I think it is actually working now. For some reason the tab under "Set Engine" always show "MicroB" highlighted, even if the actual engine is Opera. This tricked my completely... :o

I guess this is how it works for you guys too?

Is there something I need to do to enable the set engine tab? I dont have it on my web tab after doing the install. I'm stuck in the Mozilla engine (which seems very sluggish to me)
Thanks

The custom google maps created with mapbuilder do not work.
Neither do maps at maps.google.com
