Also, I like the Nexus 9 but why only 32GB memory and no micro sd card?

I'm inclined to think there are 2 important reasons for that; firstly, for SD card you'd need to pay license fees for MS so the device manufacturing costs (hw+lisencing) would go about 15 eur higher. Secondly, Google tries to promote the idea that you should store all your data to cloud services so they feel that interchangeable media on a device is excess baggage.

A keyboard! Who would have imagined :D

Here is a handy accessory for using the Nexus 9 as a phone during long calling sessions.
Just like the with the hardware keyboard, that nice retro feeling is included :p

Attachment 35932

Hmmm...
I dunno ste-phan ...
I don't think the phone accessory will fly...
It looks alot smaller than the nexus 9....
The phone needs to be bigger....

ps.- oooh! it looks like it is waterproof, can be used in the shower and as a support aid too! excellent innovation!

Like the little clampy buttons.....wonder...is it suction or barbed hooks?...
meh...doesn't matter...it's excellent for attaching to dog...cat...friend...spouse...
wonder if you get hit with roaming charges if the chinchilla starts panicking and stampedes around the house with the thing on it's back ...

ohyeah....I assume it has an "emergency senior alert button" on it for... "When you fall 'tween the tub and toilet and can't get up..." ?

It is not smaller than nexus 9, don't worry. The suction grip is 12" but comes with bezel adapters to fit the Nexus line.
Who would want a retro look without screen bezels anyway?

Success depends on Google daring to promote the accessory.

I can I imagine this will really take off when some customer decides to hold them to the exact letter of this marketing line:

Nexus 9

Designed with you in mind
Fit for your hand **

With a soft grip back and subtle curves, the Nexus 9 tablet strikes a slim profile that’s light and comfortable for work or play.

**With the optional 12" multifunctional Pro iBOSS Grip.

Yes, multi purpose accessories are the future.
From dev site:
Next model will have senior panic button that interacts via NFC and BT with the attached Tablet / Phone and our special app.
The senior should just mind not to hit the ground tablet first as this may compromise the communication with emergency services.

Watch for the upcoming app and patch that will enable LTE in the grip, including full GPS tracking for pet or spouse over LTE transfered coordiantes with Google mapping support.
Unfortunately, the company cannot be held responsible for any induced roaming charges if chincilla runs circles over the Mexican / Canadian border. But thanks to "pet mode" shallow insertion homing electrodes and the integrated ultrasonic sound processor and speaker we don't expect the unruly pet to resist his masters call to order.
Barbed hooks are optional to use but pls first check legality in your place of residence.

Hm...ya it appears the war since "bendgate" between An-droid and app-L has been heating up...
duh-duh-duh
dum-de-dum
dum-de-dum ...(star wars theme in plain text :D)...
oh there they are now...the two combatants..

http://s26.postimg.org/wl1ydoec9/17_...6_51_06_AM.png

Well at least the pair are trying to sort out their transparency issues...

http://s26.postimg.org/h293uavfd/17_...6_47_19_AM.png

oop...wrong transparency. Someone send 'em a memo eh?

Huh...well ...as far as falling on yer smartphone goes ..

http://s26.postimg.org/c4vj96tg9/17_...6_53_06_AM.png

that one is done.
But the corps are coming up with a serious fix for "falls onto smartphone" damage ...to stop the influx of costly repair returns...here is an artists (sad one at that) rendition of the new "hot fix"

http://s26.postimg.org/n1wuxyg7t/17_...6_49_16_AM.png

In it you see the offending body which "was" falling on to the smartphone ...only to activate the smartphone emergency safety "detected a fall" protocol...where all the potential damage from a fall is directly (and I mean directly) absorbed into the phone...and then conveniently incinerated inside the molten tasty core of the smartphone itself.

Corp. costly repair returns problem solved with the new "Hot Fix"

Since the new "Hot fix" has since been implemented...record interest in the new "missing-person-face-on-a-milk-carton-app" has skyrocketed....

New Nexus 6... cheaper than flagship devices, more expensive than previous Nexus devices.
I think they should've priced it cheaper, but now it looks like the Nexus 5 will be the cheaper offering.
And when I think about it... Google is copying Apple, with their marketing strategy for devices.

New Nexus 9.... again expensive, and as expensive as other Android flagship offerings.
Its cheaper than the iPad by a small margin.
It feels like the same pricing parametres for the Nexus 6.

Nexus Player.
Interesting little device. It has a better processor as competitors but its same price.
But its "cast" option isn't as good as Apple's AirPlay.
But its content isn't as good as the Roku.
But its Apps isn't as good as the Fire TV.
Its controller is also a bit pricey.
...
...but I like the Nexus Player merely for the fact that it will make Google TV a much better ecosystem, and will make new TVs a much better experience/product in the future.

Hum...i don't think it a Meego-comeback ...
but rather a case of Meego-forgery/ fraud/ impersonation/ rape.
take your pick.
But it sure isn't legit Meego or a Linux of any flavour...running M$..
refer to Linux copyright and trademark infringement.
Chinese product thinks it can utilize the Meego name for it's brand...my guess is ....with impunity...with no repercussion

I'll take rape. But does it matter that both Meegopads have Intel running inside?
And why Linux Foundation does nothing about it?

Re: Latest And Greatest!

Wellll....it isn't a couple different devices...it is exactly the same one with different casing.

hum...
since... http://www.linuxfoundation.org/about...age-guidelines
pretty much states that the usage is in direct trademark violation.
I haven't heard anywhere that the foundation was going to "let" anyone use it for non-linux or in tandem with other platforms.
Unless there was a quiet hush-hush backroom deal of some kind (highly doubtful) ...
Well...it is more than possible that Intel had no idea as to the name of the finished product.
If I order 10 000 units of Intel chips ...think Intel (or whatever middleman I got them from) is going to ask what it is for? What it's called? Prob not...they'll say "thank you for the money here is your product"
That's my guess to their involvement...lovingly called "plausible deny-ability" ...They had/ have no idea the purpose of their product.

Also if you realllyyyyyy think about it...you'd think it would be pretty huge news if Android, M$ (win8) and Linux made a truce, pact, peace, friendship and 3-way menage-a-nightmare, tied the knot, got married, and produced the 3-headed love-child called the Meegopad usb dongle.

Naw...That would be pretty huge news everywhere...about them working together.

Re: Latest And Greatest!

All that being said....it is an innovative little piece of circuitry...actually I'm surprised it hasn't been done before now...I commend the entrepreneurs involved ..It may very well be a Boxee Box on steroids (speaking of which I have a couple of Boxee's fab device running a very user friendly xbmc child...I've subsequently rooted it and upgraded one to Boxee + hackers edition and on the other installed xbmc via usb and sd card...a little slower but very interesting nonetheless)....
but I'll trust it when I see proper reviews done on it.
.But look at the alix page again... "Ubantu"? really?...oh...wait a sec. ...hear that sound?...sorry it is the clarion warning bells in my head going off again...
