I must have missed it.... what's the little circular arrow icon in the status bar in some screenshoots? Thanks! :)

tso 2008-06-19 18:00

Re: Show off your screenshots

its the indication that there are more icons in the bar then there is room for. poke said icon and another bar will drop down. btw, i have no clue what happens if that new bar is also filled up ;)

Re: Show off your screenshots

No, the indication that your status bar is full is a downwards pointing arrow. The circular arrow is for the screen rotation applet

Re: Show off your screenshots

Ah, screen rotation..... that makes sense. Thanks for the info :) Was thinking perhaps it was a status bar access to the shutdown/reboot/lock menu.

Re: Show off your screenshots

you know that would be a nice applet to get. I dont have a connection all the time and am in offline mode a lot of the time and it would be nice not to have to rotate my screen everytime that i put it into offline mode.

Same question here... What's the magic to stretch rather than tile?

Underscore 2008-06-19 23:44

Re: Show off your screenshots

l just set the background to ''stretched'' in the background settings box after rotation.

qole 2008-06-19 23:50

Re: Show off your screenshots

Ok, so there's no real magic, you have to re-stretch it after each rotation. But thanks for the tip!

tso 2008-06-20 08:47

Re: Show off your screenshots

if that can be called by outside code, maybe the rotate applet could do that automatically. and oops on my part about the arrow. thats what one get for replying when one should sleep (forum surfing in bed with a N800 at the time)...

oh and is that rotation stuff available as a simple to install deb now?

I did it the manual way (thanks again qwerty12!). But I believe this is the new and improved superduper automatic way.

My usual home page, Nice and simple:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3028/...66b7f58b_o.png

Custom internet webpage with all my most used websites:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3087/...0743e1dc_o.png

Personal Menu:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3177/...fb374795_o.png

Diablo theme background?
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3019/...b0db6d00_o.png

Programs:
Theme: Nuvoclear 2
Personal Menu,
Advanced backlight control,
SwitchonBT
OMweather
Imported LCD font for Large Statusbar Clock (go HERE for step by step on how to do this)

Other favorites: ScummVM, Crazy parking, GPE to-do/calendar, Media Streamer, Canola, MAEMO MAPPER (BEST!!!), Skype.

Hardware: Globaltop G66 bluetooth GPS (Highly recommended), 8GB newegg SD card (cheap...but no problems yet!)

Would like to see:
1) Combined wifi/blutooth statusbar icon (like advanced backlight) as described in this thread
2) Maemo mapper with ability to create routes locally - i.e. no internet connection.
3) The internal GPS to at least pretend that it works sometimes. I honestly believe that Nokia forgot to put one in my N810. Idiots.

NOTE: Could anyone point me in the direction of how to change the default icons on the main home tab (Person menu is fine, just want to change the Internet and Extras icons)....Is there a way to remove the Extras icon?

The newest version of Sliderotate has an option to use a long press of the Home button to rotate. This solves the problem of the screen rotating everytime you use the power button to bring up the menu to lock the screen or go into offline mode.

P.S - really nice desktop you got there :)

I like Pocket Calculator, myself. It's a freeware font. That's the one I use for my Large Statusbar Clock.

Anyone tried the echo-black theme? It looks like it appeared after the diablo update. You have to hack around to get it working though, and when everything's set up right it's still horribly unfinished. It's not really screenshot worthy at the moment, but it'll look realllly nice when it's finished.

Sorry for the double post, but this is pretty cool. I set the hildon theme to Raleigh so that hildon apps fit with the KDE theme. The ugly borders are gone and things like tooltips work.

Host the picture (Try Flickr, Photobucket, etc)

Copy the image source link

Hit reply in this thread

Click on the little box up on top, that looks like this: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...nsertimage.gif

Paste Image source info into the pop up, hit enter.

Sumbit reply :)

You could use a webapp like Flicker or Photobucket to load your image file to then you would grab the link to that image from the webapp and click on the image button (little yellow square with what looks like a mountain and sun in it) found at the top of the posting window. After you click the image button a window will pop up and you can paste the link to your Flicker/Photobucket image there. Voila! Your image will show up in your post.

This is what I do at least - there might some easier way :D

Some screenshots from the upcoming release of NIT-Debian (actual Debian booting.)

What it's showing:

Xfce4+matchbox environment with working network manager, xournal, Flash (yes, real Flash) on Debian, and matchbox-keyboard.

Maybe not the prettiest theme but the functionality is interesting :)

Merci

Thank you, of your interest for my subject, I am sorry for my English but I speak only about French, I use a translator to answer you, I too regret the size(cutting) of the text in the titles(securities), but I do not manage to change her(it), "Thememaker" does not take into account the size(cutting) which I settle(adjust).
If you have a solution I am a buyer.
I also work on a black subject, but I have problems of colors of police on certain button.

Thanks

In English:
Yes, this is a problem with "thememaker". You can manually edit the file called "gtkrc" to increase the font size though. The font size is defined by the property: "osso-TitleFont" in the "gtkrc" file. You can change the font size and then repackage the theme with "thememaker".

Envoyez-moi un message privé si vous avez besoin d'aide. Je suis également l'aide d'un traducteur.
