I've tried the Hermes V3 version and it works with fw 3.15, but I'm looking for the power users version, anybody knows if theres one too? thanks!

Anybody having problems with this??
Everytime I try and launch a game it goes back to the main screen but only shows the disc thats in the drive.

This has only started to happen since switching to the latest psfreedom.

Oh okay
I did not realise there was another folder this time round. When i used the first psfreedom, I went into the backup manager, launched the game booted back into xmb and the game disc was what i selected to play my backup. I'll try it later one.

Anybody wants to put these new changes into the psfreedoom gui so that everybody can just download it on the N900

(as I think this could help a lot of the new people to the scene)

it's give me worg loading with xterminal
error inserting 'psfreedom.ko': -1 invalod module format ... ?

The new file only works with omap (nokia's kernel) NOT power kernel as of right now.

You have to uninstall it.

If you installed it from the application manager, you can just uninstall it using the "deinstall kernel" program that's installed along with it.

I wouldn't bother though.

Just wait a couple days for the power kernel version.

Can anyone tell me how to enable patched mode using ps3freedom? I have been trying to play f1 2010 with open manager 1.16 and others have reported that the no controller problem will be resolved if i open the game in patched mode. I have tried pressing the R2 button but the open manager is still in normal mode. It does not change into patched mode. Is the ps3 jailbreak app compatible with hermes v3?
Can someone tell me how to get this working?

you must have the hermes V3 .ko file payload and of course the gui app must be using this new .ko which you would manually would have had to place in the correct directory ... i dont know where as i dont use the gui app... if pressing R2 does not place it into patched mode it suggets the hermes V3 is not being loaded

^^^ which kernel are you using? the hermes v3 .ko file only works for the omap kernel. if you are using the omap kernel, the .ko file should be in the root folder (correct me if i'm wrong)

Thank you. I was using the power kernel and tried to uninstall it through the app manager and to my horror the phone went into a reboot loop. I had to reflash the phone.

So beware!!!

Also, PL3 already includes (for some time now) all the good stuff from hermes, it already supports installing game updates, or running games without a disc, anything else that Hermes added is useless and dangerous.

Some might have seen my tweets about my new payload being released, and many are asking me what is the difference between my payload and what is already available.

PL3 doesn’t support syscall 36 anymore, for multiple reasons, first, it was bad code, it was mapping a path to a single hardcoded value (/dev_bdvd or /app_home or /dev_flash or whatever is hardcoded in the payload) which means that, since we (the PSGroove and PSFreedom developers) don’t want to support running backups, all the official payloads weren’t working with the backup manager without being patched first.

The syscall_35 I added in my payload is more generic though, it is the proper way of doing things.

You can map any path to another other new path, the prototype looks like this :

syscall_35 (char *old_path, char *new_path);

This means that the payload doesn’t need to have a hardcoded /dev_bdvd path in it, or have extra code for mapping /app_home to something else.. or having syscall 36 change both /dev_bdvd and /app_home breaking homebrew when using a discless mode with a backup manager.

You also don’t need a special payload to run the ‘firmware usb loader’.. It all just works because the choice of the path mapping is given to the homebrew applications themselves.

This means that the backup managers will just map /dev_bdvd to what they want and they will work by default on my payload, there will be no need for a patched version of the payload to make them work.

This however means that the backup managers that depend on syscall 36 will stop working.

For now Gaia Manager is the only backup manager available that is compatible with my payload. But I’m sure more will be ported to use syscall_35.

People need to understand that this new syscall_35 has to become the new standard, this is what all the payloads should use, nothing else, and this is what everyone should start using, not the old, crappy, backup-manager specific, PSJailbreak written, syscall_36.

We need to have some form of standardization for all these payloads, I’m tired of seeing about 100 different payloads floating on the internet, it doesn’t make sense.

I always believed in a single payload that works for everyone, and that’s why I created

so you can play games that are require above 3.41, with current pl3 file from kakarote , which only work with Gaia Manager latest RC9, which does not have that option and even tho using OMB 2.1 still didnt work with patch and that option because hermes v4 requires

A warning to all jailbroken ps3 owners

" Do not try to install the netflix app when the ps3 prompts you to either install it or use the disk for 31 days" If you click install, you can never go back to the netflix instant streaming disk. It is permenantly blocked and you have to update your ps3 and will lose your jailbreak.

ok, im having trouble launching a game, specifically my backup game streetfighter 4 and nba 2k11 both needed controller sync payload,

i have successfully executed ./psfreedom-enable.sh from command line,
however, upon lauching the game both nba and sf, i starts into a blank screen and freezes.

my question is what do i have to do to get it working... im using the .ko found here

I too have the same issue as madcat820 with 2 of my games (DiRT & Call of Duty 4). Loads/flickers to blank screen then freezes. Is some editing needed to the copied game?

I am using latest PL3 payload from this forum and just downloaded and tried hermes v4b payload with same results. Just dont seem to be able to loads these 2 games so far. Any help appreciated.

If I told you that I had downloaded the .ko with the v3 hermes that in combination with open manager made possible to play F1 2010 (controller patch) and now I lost it, as I tried other versions? :/
Please google "psfreedom n900 hermes v3" and you'll find it!

Well I can load and play F1 2010 absolutely fine using Gaia Manager v1.0 and either PL3 or hermes v4b payloads.

So not being able to load DiRT or COD4 seems to be other issue I think. I also tried changing down my screen res to 720p as I heard that might help but did not work for me.

Also I have no game data to delete for DiRT or COD4 so that wont help either.

any other suggestions welcomed :-)
