What i did Kevstacey was use filebox find the files in luiscesjr file paths from the above post and delete them.

You can do it either way it doesn't make a difference.

Why, after one year, some firm forgets Maemo?
I write that for gameloft :

Good alfernoon.

First, my phone is (Nokia N900) not in your, list, why?

Some of N900 user thinks we are forgetten: the N900's OS is Linux based, like the WebOS !
Why not make games for N900?
Do you know N900 can use WebOS games but with one finger only?
Look: http://wiki.maemo.org/Preenv/Game_Compatibility

So, please, don't forget us, Maemo's et MeeGo's users car have your games if you think about us!

Thanks.
I hope we will have WebOS games without a second application (Preenv) and with less bugs...

Preenv is not really a program, it is a set of libraries + scripts to use these libraries. There is no emulation, you run games natively. The "only" problem is that Palm Pre games are designed for Palm Pre and for WebOS, and here we have the bugs.

Are you typing sudo gainroot at the beginning?

It does mention this on the Preenv/FAQ.:)

Hehe, yeah, I type root at the beggining.
When i try apt-get upgrade ( not update ) it gives me a list of
files to be upgraded, around 22,8 mb, but don`t mention libgles 1,2

Hey Renaldo,

As I appreciate the fact that you`re sharing knowledge, I do agree with your criticaster here. It is wise to drown the people you help in warnings and disclaimers. Especially here, in the games forum, you'll find lots of non-techies who "just simply wanna play a game". Technies have sorted out their problems, if and when they run into them, without the need to resort to this forum thread.

In short; Advising someone to change the ownership of an entire user directory without lots of horns, bells and whistles, all screaming the same warning message (do this only if you're short on building material for the house you're building), is not good practice.

Back on the subject of PreEnv: With one well aimed hit, this set of libraries has taken away all desire in me to keep NitDroid installed or to run any of the emulators around here. As a non-gamer, I'm afraid this might get me hooked.

sudo gainroot

ok ive been trying to get hawx to work..i tried the instructions on wiki compatibility then found this but can get it to work due to a segmentation fault..can anyone help?..ive managed to get other games workin such as nfsu, asphalt5, sims3 and nova.

i used midnight commander to put the file into home/user not filebox does that matter?

also a gap in the code above on the ln -s part which dont seem right

The gap is correct and divides the source path from the target path.

Code:

ln -s /home/user/com.gameloft.app.hawx/ /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/
^means: link the folder
Code:

/home/user/com.gameloft.app.hawx/
with
Code:

/media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/
so when the game is searching for its files in /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/ it will actually get them from /home/user/com.gameloft.app.hawx/ because the folders are linked. ;)

Not sure if this has come up in the thread, apologies if it has.

I’ve managed to get HAWX working. But I can’t control it with the accelerometer.

What files do I need to get it working?

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

I currently have NFSU installed, it works fine, but no sound. The no sound doesn't bother me, but the fact that every single sound effect has made it into my media player does. When I play all songs on random half the time it plays random sound effects, really annoying.

The game is installed in two places: MyDocs/Games/NFS............. and home/user/games/nsf

I tried deleting the sound files, but it just ruins the program. How do I get these songs out of my media player?

You need to add the directories for your Palm Pre games to the 'no-watch' list of the tracker (the background process that indexes your media). You can do this using http://maemo.org/packages/view/tracker-cfg/

On a completely different subject, I think everyone who's enjoying playing these Palm Pre games should send a message to the companies (Gameloft, EA, etc) to encourage them to develop and release games 'properly' for the N900.

Gameloft contact page: http://www.gameloft.com/gameloft/?adid=101966

Aranel 2010-11-12 08:25

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

Use Tracker-cfg application (or manually edit cd /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg) and add those folders to NoWatchDirectory. Then, run this command via XTerm: tracker-processes -r. It will take some time to rebuild databases, but when It's done you will never see those sound files on your Music Player again.

Hey buddy! Everything is fine here, I have been able to save my profile as well as my progress, everytime I start the game it is where I had left it. Dont really know what to say, I didn't do anything special.

Good luck there!

Yeah for all the other games installed, everything is fine but with h.a.w.x i can't save. When i set the language and play the tuto, it works fine, but once i close the game it does not save my progress!
And Also i can't change accelerometer sensitivity!! Help Help! This Game is sooooo Wonderful to not be able to play with it! lol :(

Re: Preenv webOS games compatibility list

How To save games in HAWX (if you are facing problems) just follow these commands in terminal:

Quote:

sudo gainroot
cd /opt/preenv/usr/palm/applications/com.gameloft.app.hawx
chmod 777 hawx
chmod 777 hawx/data.bar
chmod 777 hawx/Settings
chmod 777 hawx/Profiles
chmod 777 hawx/Profile_0
And Voila. Somebody could update this info in the wiki for those who cannot save language, and profile progress! Hope it will help!
Ps: Tested it for .deb installation.

This might sound stupid but is there a wayt o have all of the games on the sd card? Why can't we just have the webos folder on the sdcard and then copy the games over and run it from there? Ran out of room on home/user unfortunately.
