I'm kind of on the edge with this one. HDMI out missing is huge thing for me, but i really like the UI and design. I really don't have any must buy from Android. GS2 is too big but got the right specs. Who knows i might end up buiyng iphone 5 next to my iphone 4. :D |

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
According to Nokia Euro....
Supported Video Formats: 3GPP formats (H.263), ASF, AVI, Flash Video, H.264/AVC, Matroska, MPEG-4, VC-1, WMV 9 So the media player supports flash video but not the browser? |

Price is $670 for 16gb and $760 for 64gb. Pricey without carrier subsidies.

Engadget changed the title of their article from "Nokia's N9 official: a plastic slab of MeeGo coming later this year" to "Nokia's N9 official: a luscious slab of MeeGo coming later this year"

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Here's a somewhat valid question. So let's say the interface with the swiping and all that doesn't get ported to N900. No big deal...
What I'd like to see is the Qt apps (especially an upgraded Ovi Maps) make it's way to the N900. At this point I'm kind of on the fence about buying this. Some say that the battery isn't replaceable. Well, it looked to me in the video of putting it together that you could somehow pull it out of it's unibody plastic and swap batteries. And I agree, what the crap is up with it missing the HDMI port? And even more so... why can't I select the notify me when it's available because I'm in the USA? Is it coming here? and What about when the FCC spec becomes public, will all the specs for the RM-680 be made available? I really don't see the advantage between the Dev device and the Consumer device, as has been touted here many times before. I still think the N950 looks like more of what I wanted to replace my N900! Gimme gimme gimme!!! slaapliedje |

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Nokia didn't fail to amaze us again! Amaze how dumb they are.
Why even bother releasing a device that screams old hardware and dead OS. If they were going to go with the dead OS, at least give us some good hardware to lean and develop on. For God's sake, Microsft should buy and close Nokia for good. I don't think I will miss then now. |

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Looks like N950 is just a bit behind N9 hardware wise (unless they skipped some details on CPU/GPU). Why isn't it sold for the public??

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
yeah i would really love to have N950 got a say. As the specs are where it matters the same and i would get aluminium build and qwerty.

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Does anyone remember, did the n950 proto have a hdmi port?

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Dont worry ppl... it looks nd feels like Nokia is really going to support this, nd if they are not, it looks like it is giving the community a helping hand... I mean making awesome NFC players nd technology to accommodate the Nokia N9, that just shows u that they are going for a winner here, besides the features seem somewhat incomplete, but lets wait and see... im just saying this is not the same nokia i know... this is a different side of nokia.... Thats just my opinion...

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
n9 is finally out now with meego 1.2. so my question is.. will N900 get any benefit from this.? if we install meego on 1.2 on nokia N900 , it must be continue supported. isn't it.?

1st of all, apologies for doubting you :p next... i'll just refer to my Ter-MeeGo-tor post... 8 MP? why not 12? yeah, right, like Carl Zeiss optics matters, @ the end of the day... what matters is to be able to boast about the nbr of MPs... the rest? well, iPotato V will outrank it. by Xmas, nobody will even remember N9 :( R.I.P. Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Well why are you calling it a dead OS ? MeeGo was what you expected and what you wanted. Now you get and so you call it dead OS ? Weird people.
And specs, who said it will have dual core ? you imagined it and now that its not there you are sad. |

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Let's see how long it takes before Nokia cancels the support and dev. Work. For N900 it was less than a year..
Users will have a device with half-baked apps and no future. |
