@Lumiaman

Firstly

"If Nokia had gone with Android ... Nokia would dominate"

I see you acknowledge that Nokia should have gone with Android if they wanted to be successful.

It's a start towards the cold light of reality.

I have some news for you, they still could, it's not too late.

Secondly

"Jolla .... nothing more to offer than mooch off Android apps"

Apart from QT of course, so thats QT and potentially all the Android apps.

Hmm, Windows phone can mooch off any WIndows apps or any RT apps maybe?

What none?

Microsoft can't even mooch any of their own apps - Quelle Surprise!

Truth be told: In the short term, you're claiming a small profit. You neglect to point out that in any length of longer term (weeks, months, years, etc.), there's an excruciating amount of liability the longer you go since Elop took over--moreso than ever before for the stock. Am I right?

Actually not. I bought it at its nadir, under $3. So I am ok. Again, I still stand by $10 bucks by next spring. Will see how wrong I am.

I acknowledge nothing that I haven't said before. Nokia and BB were late to face reality of having to change. Markets are ruled by opportunism, timing and ability to predict winners. Nothing to do with open or closed software. Actually, let me correct myself, Nokia did try to have their own OS, but it became clear that they could not deliver for whatever reasons. Read the rest above. And Jolla has no chance. They are DOA.

@Lumiaman

Actually you are wrong, it is everything to do with Open or Closed.

Seems you are unable to see the winner even when it is in front of your face.

I certainly hope you don't do investments for a living.

It has nothing to do with open or closed. And I have debunked your falsehoods multiple times above.

It has everything to do with Open or Closed.

You have made many statements that have shown you do not have a clear grasp of Open.

But thats ok, thats part of what this forum is here to do, help those with less knowledge to actual understanding.

I feel for you.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note which Samsung won't upgrade anymore past Android 4.1.2

Oh I nearly forgot, because Android is OPEN I can deploy something like CyanogenMod if I want to, oh lucky me.

I nearly thought I was stuck in a Closed nightmare, suks to be Lumiaman.

ps. I just found out the Lumia 800 was only released 18mnths ago and already it is obsolete? wow WOW!

Thats a very short and slightly useless lifetime, shame Microsoft Lumia Customers are locked in with no choice.

I wonder if newer models will have equally short lifespans and will those Customers also be equally shafted?

I wouldn't ever choose to be a Nokia/Microsoft customer.

In comparison, my N900 was released in 2009 and is still going strong, CSSU updates are great.

I loved being a Nokia/Maemo customer and hope for the day when Nokia comes to its senses.

Lumia 800 can do basic functions better than N9 and N900 and no matter how much updates you get on those, it will still not do what Lumia 800 can do.

Fill in the blanks:

Lets see, Microsoft dominated for so long and it was........system.

Lets see Apple was the most valuable company in the world and is ......system.

Lets see, the single most sold phone runs...........system.
