WOW! I hope the device is cheap, but I'd pay a LOT for it.

Two things:
1) Where is the 'kick stand' in the pictures? I don't see any stand at all.

2) The reason there is not a 'full screen' button is probably because in the new UI there is no 'side bar' so apps are always full screen.

Yep, thats my point. For a similar price point, you get a whole lot more.

To be honest, the Hero is a bit cheaper at £399 but offers less in hardware terms.

I can't further comment as the price of n900 is yet unknown. But you are right, if the price of the N900 is astronomical, it doesn't make any sense and fails to leave a mark which Nokia intends to do.

Well, UI of the N900 (the one from the recent screenshots) appear to be nothing short of awesome. They will definitely be of equal appeal to the end-user.

The diff is Nokia is trying to take the user-experience to the next level with N900. The new hardware enables it to do so. Whereas, HTC is milking the cow with the same stuff but in different form factors!

Its part of the camera surround, it flicks out like the N86.

Expect to pay $700 US.

I wouldnt knock HTC, they make good stuff but has always been let down by WM.

The latest stuff with Android is very good and the sense UI is a good experience, they just need to expand on the Android based hardware.

I can see myself dual booting the N900 with Maemo/ Android at some point. :D

Expect to pay $700 on the day its released, $599 within a week or two and probably it will settle at $500-$525 unlocked within 2 months. Nokia have also been having some really good sales at their online shop, I got my 5800 for about 40% off MSRP.

The first view is ready ...
When will publish until it decided. I think not to tip out all together, wait and see how ustakanitsya information on the N900, then this "miracle" will. The device is surprisingly good, although I have long doubted him like the idea ... The questions to answer is not ready:)

But perhaps few would suggest tizerov on the road to the title

You know what amazes me about all this?

Actually seeing people who have never seen or touched a Maemo device before saying they're "looking forward to Harmattan".

Please identify your hope and wishes separately from objective analysis :D We know it's quite unlikely (for both scenarios).
