Always ask:
Code:

gconftool-2 --set --type list --list-type string /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect []
Any connection:
Code:

gconftool-2 --set --type list --list-type string /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect[*]
UPDATE:
I have quickly crafted a shell script which you could put in place like /usr/local/bin and then use via x-terminal:

Code:

power-saver.sh
Code:

power-saver.sh off
Or schedule it for automatic overnight execution via Alarmed, if you wish.

you are a champ !
thanks heaps

As long as you can execute custom commands, you can activate those profiles, too.

ProfilesX profiles can be used just like "silent" and "general".
This is one reason I made this app.

Can ProfileX be used alongside Tweakr, so can I install and give ProfileX a try while still having Tweakr installed and running (ie. nothing will explode etc.)?

gconftool-2 -g /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect[*]

There have to be a space after "auto_connect" and before "[*]". Forum post editor has somehow removed that space there. :-o

It won't explode (a good suggestion for an iphone app?).
But I don't know how tweakr reacts if you use custom profiles.
Tweaker assumes that there are only two profiles and
can be mistaken by additional profiles.

Re: [Announce] "Alarmed" scheduling App (supports automatic GPRS data counter resetting)

Hi All,
I have installed alarmed so I can (to start with) use it to set it to:
go to silent profile at 8:30am (when i get to work)
go to general profile at 5:30pm (when i finish)
but i cant seem to get it working ....
i click new event,
change the first box to 'Switch Profile',
change the second box to 'Weekly'
in the next box i put a tick next to mon, tue, wed,, thu, fri
in the third box i select 8:30am
in the text box i write 'Silent'
then i click the save button.

*note that when i selected switch profile a new box appeared at the botton which is all greyed out and i cant select it (when i press it it just turns blue)
*also once i have created an event i cant go back into it if i click edit but i can delete it?

am i doing this incorrectly or is it just not working for me????

Hi

can anyone help me with the stuff alarmed wnats to install additionally?
I updated yesterday to PR1.2 and afterwards wanted to reinstal alarmed but it says, it wanted to also install a lot of qt-maemo5 stuff which I thought was just made available with the PR1.2. Where am I thinking wrong? What shall I do to get a clean install of alarmed without also installing that qt stuff?

I don't see the step where you told it to go silent or back. The text box is the name of the task. You need to select the profile you want from the button at the bottom.

You also need profiles to be defined. Tweakr could help you there.

Alarmed uses pyside, the Qt4 bindings for Python made by Nokia. These don't ship with the default PR1.2.
