Seems to be working now. Sorry about that. I will keep looking if it happens again. |

I have used the latest for the past 12 hours... It skipped, or more precisely false started a song twice in the same areas it always does. It seems it only occurs if a song change and weak signal are simultaneous. If a song is playing and I drive through weak signal area It stops until the buffer is satisfied and then resumes at the place in the song where it stopped. This is what I would expect and there were no freeze ups all day (and now night). The quality is amazing (and free BTW. Thank you very much. :) ), and MAFW layer integration is done so well that even scripts I use in Simple Launcher to advance the song in media player will also advance the song in your player. A volume slider is not necessary if you are using FMTX, which now can be enabled from your drop down menu, the receiver controls the volume (I smell qwerty12 :p ). If you are listening from the device itself the status bar volume slider does the trick. This is also how life should be. :) Push it! BTW, I would much rather see time spent on perhaps an either/or hard portrait configuration option for those mounting it in cars in portrait (Nokia's N900 ASR truly sucks balls ) and a button in portrait that can be script configured, or better yet, slides out the status bar menu so Quick Launch, MAFW volume, display brightness, and other status bar apps can be reached easily. :) |

*** Yes, Automatic Screen Rotation... I imagine you are calling their bits for this as do other apps. The trouble is when an app starts with a device in portrait the device sometimes doesn't know where it is (what orientation) and the app gets confused until you remove the device from however it is mounted and do the hippy hippy shake . :D Not only is it a PITA while driving, it looks so dang spastic to others who may see you do this. :p An auto/landscape/portrait config option would be helpful if you know how the device is going to be used and you intend on using it that way for most of the time. Like mounting it in a holder or leaving it on a desktop on the kick stand. From portrait; to get to a Status Bar app like Quick Launch or simple brightness requires three taps, to get back on square requires 2... I'm lazy :) In my perfect world a long press on any screen in any app would slide out the Status Menu. It wouldn't matter if this menu slid out in landscape orientation while the app or device was in portrait mode as the functions could still be used. But (sigh), that's in my perfect world :) If the command to invoke this slide out action is known a button on your drop down menu would reduce the round trip finger inputs from 5 to 2. The timing needed to get both to return to an inactive state though would be very tricky I would imagine. |
Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)
Oh I think I see.. in portrait mode the status menu doesn't drop down.. it only comes down in landscape.. ?
If the default UI doesn't do it I'm not sure I could.. would need to research that if it's possible for an app (especially python/qt) to drop that down on command. Hildon is mostly GTK stuff.. --- New version should be up soon.. I need testers on the Diablo/N8x0 side to let me know if this is working or not. The Diablo crowd is quiet. N900, hopefully, should be working better. Report back please :). |

if there is problems.. tell me here. One thing I can't fix is the size of the dependecies... so if it's a space issue there isn't anything I can do. |
