I really wish they pushed up the launch. All the manufacturers released their new phones and are ready to sell in the next few weeks. Will be tough to wait

"The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 may not be a bad idea after all
I know what you’re probably thinking, and you may have stopped reading when you got to the spec on the sheet. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is an old chipset. I know that. You know that. F(x)tec knows that.

The reason for the inclusion of the Snapdragon 835 is that it’s incredibly battery efficient, it’s still powerful, and it helps to keep costs reduced"

I can confirm the battery efficiency from my Nokia 8 :)

Good! You are a fast learner. It’s your choice.

It’s a healthy relationship. It nothing personal nor is directed at product itself, it’s just business.

I mean... if I say send me all your information today. Would you just do that :D I hope not.

Better to have a poll here at TMO since I’m cheering for this project from the back of the crowed :D

I work on spreading the word. But won’t sign up without defined and confirmed specs and device. No way.

Preordered! Moto Z on its way out and this is the only phone that has me excited from MWC so far (and folding phones are too rich for my money at the moment) kudos for the pay later option allowing me to keep an eye on progress and make sure its meeting my price vs performance justification

Not much mention of other OS options. Would have hoped this was at least a talking point when discussing with those getting the hands on.

Impressed though Liangchen....I didnt think it would happen if Im honest.

One thing I would say was a surprise was that the screen part was thinker than I thought. I figure it would be more like the n900 or n950, were as the screen part is more like 1/3 of the thickness. It's not a huge deal, but curious as to why this is. maybe the sensors and curved screen need a little more space.

AKA MSM8998. Indeed, not bad at all. :) Definitely a big +1 over the Cosmo Communicator's dead-end MediaTek SoC.

I'm really impressed with how the device looks and what Chen has achieved so far. With basic SoC support already available in real Linux, now for the real question. How much are Fx Technology willing to help with mainlining their device? If this device can run real Linux, without libhybris adaptations, it would be the perfect target for Maemo Leste and I would buy it in an instant.

The software transitions when people handle the phone look very clunky and slow at times. Looks like they still have stuff to work on...

Yeah. It will be really nice to see it in the wild. But its a looong way to go still.

An awsome android experience is key to any kind of success unfortunately.

I really hope Chen/Livermorium will help out with this as well. If they would, it will definitely generate a lot of goodwill amongst the development community, which I assume is part of their target group.

in other terms, everything seems nice (except of useless 2nd rear cam, this place might be used for more battery capacity but okay).

1) No, the power/lock button has it's own button.
2) Having a second rear camera is for some people a nice welcome.
You probably haven't seen the newly announced Nokia phone with 5 cameras...

You have no idea what the extra cameras do don't you...?

TBH, I thought it would be more expensive. Cost $649. N900 went for $649! Amazing!

EDIT: Corrected price. Originally thought price was in euros!

Completely agree. My mistake. Pretty bad examples that you have to deliver what you say when it comes to buissness. It was not about politics. But I agree it might be too sensitive to united kingdomies and eusayers. My apologiesz

If you have a deal including a massive can of worms you have to fix the worms and atleast one massive can. That was my point the other was placeholders.

Have ordered a ProOne?

That was what I was afraid of. The sw part. Chen knows plenty of keyboards and that is the main feature and will be in focus. So I guess it will be solid! But the software. Hope they manage to find a nice transition for apps.

I guess that only matter if you want to run android. For me it doesn't matter.

So far thought it seems to be getting great responses and very decent coverage. On Engadget youtube video, most of the comments are positive.

Isn't that the proximity sensor? IR might have been picked up by camera. Also, what's the point of such a led on an OLED-device? I always found the led on the Nokia N9 quite useless, as the always-on display was far better at showing indicators.

You. know you could be right. Not sure, just guessed. I feel like the proximity sensor goes on the right side of the screen .. :D.

But I like a programable led for quickly knowing what's going on, with out lighting up the whole screen. But I've never had an old phone, so maybe it's not needed.

Anyone know the weight of this device?
Also any similar sized phones that I can go to a store and play around with? Just trying to get a feel for handling characteristics
