Anyone know if we will see sfdroid support on the cm12 base soon? I'd like to upgrade but I need a couple of Andorid applications.

Soon from Jolla's dictionary yes, I flashed cm12.1 based sailfish yesterday and have been trying the archaic way of getting Android booting inside Sailfish , once I can successfully boot into and switch between Android and Sailfish then I'll start the actual sfdroid port. The archaic method is so I know what init.rc modifications are needed, and if Android is more or less functional than the archaic method in CM11 based Sailfish.

At the moment I'm having problems getting ssh working after making the init.rc modifications So I can't switch between compositors.

Does anyone know how to change the max volume on the various speakers for ported HW? Wondering if it's a pulseaudio setting that can be changed by users, or something that will require actual changes and recompilation of something.

Asking for FP2 really but I'm hoping this is something that will be the same on N5 and other hardware (seems to be a common problem ).

Regarding CM12 based SFOS: I am using it for more than two weeks. As mentioned before bluetooth connectivity is more stable, video recording works somehow (crashes on second recording) and battery life is also significantly improved. Nevertheless, i miss OTA updates and Sfdroid which are not ready yet.

Does anyone know how to toggle the volume level in SF Droid applications? They also do not appear to pipe audio over the head phones when they are plugged in.

Yes, you can't. We're lucky audio even works in the first place. You can try and go to the audio settings in the Settings page in Android, and reduce it there, but not sure if that will do anything. As for the headphones thing yh that doesn't work, and no idea how to make it work.

EDIT: Going to the Android settings and lowering volume in there SHOULD work.

I found a solution or workaround (by chance) to that problem. You can in fact capture multiple videos with the camera app, but you have to switch to 'camera mode' and back to 'video mode' after each recording. Then you're good again for one take.

"ceterum censeo": The Nexus 5 has become a quiet reliable toy with SailfishOS. I call mine 'Pris'... a basic Nexus pleasure model. ;)

Going to grab the CM12.1 sources today disable all references to WiFi scanning and then give SSH another stab.

Hi. I use a widget on desktop to quickly change all different volumes...it does the job for me. :D

EDIT: not all widgets work. I use Volume Control Widget. Tested and working! But there're others...

Does anyone know if there is a way to get voicemail notifications working under Sailfish OS? Discovered today that I wasn't getting them and had a few months worth of voicemails built up because I've been using this as my daily mobile for awhile now.

Whoops.

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 on Nexus 5

So - I've just upgraded from Sailfish 2.0.1.7 to 2.0.1.11 using OTA updates. I am now seeing consistent screen tearing / static type image on my device. Occasionally this would happen under older versions of Sailfish OS on the Nexus 5 for me - but rebooting the device always resolved it.

Any ideas / work arounds for this with 2.0.1.11? Rebooting the device doesn't seem to help any more.

Is this on the cm11 based build? The cm12.1 based can't yet OTA (and if you somehow boot afterward, you won't have a lot of functionality including compositing).
2.0.1.11 (and the previous EA) had lots of qt and compositor changes. I couldn't get transparent cards on prior builds on cm12.1 for instance, so had to backport a few packages in the 2.0.0.10 build.

If anyone wants a 2.0.1.11 cm12.1 build posted, I'll upload and update the piratepad.

Edit: If you're down to possibly break your system worse, try installing the following from 2.0.1.7 if on the cm11 based build: qt5-qtdeclarative qt5-qtdeclarative-import-folderlistmodel qt5-qtdeclarative-import-localstorageplugin qt5-qtdeclarative-import-models qt5-qtdeclarative-import-particles qt5-qtdeclarative-import-qtquick2plugin qt5-qtdeclarative-import-qttest qt5-qtdeclarative-import-window2 qt5-qtdeclarative-import-xmllistmodel qt5-qtdeclarative-qtquick qt5-qtdeclarative-qtquickparticles qt5-qtdeclarative-qtquicktest

This is on the CM11 base still. I need access to a few Android applications so I need SFDroid in order to use Sailfish as my daily OS still.

Is there a way I can roll back to a previous release or is that not possible?

I've been told it's not supported and I can't confirm if this in particular will work. But I've downgraded before, and zypper supports downgrades. You should be able to follow the OTA directions on the wiki with the release you want to downgrade to.

Has anyone got a pebble working successfully on their nexus 5 (either cm11 or cm12.1 based builds) with rockpool? I'm not sure if the issue's due to an old pebble or sfos support.

What is the best way to install these packages from 2.0.1.7? Willing to try this before just rolling back a release or reflashing.

You should be able to do exactly that since /persist/ is accessible -- possibly a remount for rw access is needed (not sure off the top of my head).

Depending on why you want to change the mac address, there are other solutions. If you're just looking for obfuscation, on the cm12.1 base we have mac address randomization support. See lines 26+ on http://piratepad.net/bhP8fbzYgT

Sorry I didn't respond in a timely fashion. I'm glad you got it resolved.

Edit: for people who are doing fresh installs, I've uploaded a build of 2.0.1.11 and updated the piratepad.

I only posted the build because it was requested for a fresh install.

For upgrades, I recommend waiting for OTA support.

Here's the SFOS changelog (note that we have many qt packages back ported in the cm12.1 base): https://together.jolla.com/question/...201taalojarvi/

The only device change (to be released in OTA) is fixed second camcorder attempt (thanks to kimmoli commits).

This is really jump up , stability, battery life and the beauty of the environment . About a year ago I tried Alfa11 , this is another story .

I'd just like to chime in and say I finally set up multi-rom on my Nexus 5 so I could give the CM12.1 based 2.0.1.11 a try.

Good lord this is beautiful. I have yet to have the OS hard lock on me like the CM11 based image had a tendency to do fairly often. Video playback is super smooth and video recording is working as expected.

Once this has SFDroid support I can stop booting into android on my phone so my kid can watch netflix now and then :)

The good news is piggz got sfdroid cm12.1 booted on his device. I've just got to do the same with ours, get it to the same level as it was before release it and then update the @#£% out of it.

The SFO does automatic connect to any open wifi hotspot by default. Does anyone knows where the file is stored to disable this setting? I couldn't find anything in settings.

You should be able to install warehouse (https://openrepos.net/content/basil/...use-sailfishos) and install patchmanager through there.

1.82 might be a better PIXEL_RATIO for us based on the jolla phone specs (ty kimmoli).

To test, set up a root password (Settings => Developer Mode), open terminal or ssh in, and run:
Code:

devel-su
curl http://sprunge.us/YbWB -o kimmoli-diyicons.sh
chmod +x kimmoli-diyicons.sh
./kimmoli-diyicons.sh 1.82

To revert, run:
Code:

dconf reset /desktop/sailfish/silica/theme_pixel_ratio
devel-su
dconf update
systemctl-user restart lipstick

Please post back to say how you like the change.

Frame, LCD, and digitizer combos are reasonably cheap and easy to install. Still a shame.

Try this first, then patchmanager and warehouse should be working great (note this might break jolla store until a restart):
Code:

devel-su
ssu dr adaptation0
zypper ref
zypper in patch
