It will, the main developers have assured me it will work with the libpebble stuff from ubuntu, which is what rockpool is based on. Working with them to ensure we have something usable.

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Many Thx for Rockpool. It was working on my old Jolla and my Sony Xperia X without any problems, last also yet.

But on my Sony Xperia X Dual Sim I have trouble. The new initialisation will not work. Nothing will do after clicking fw-initialisation for my Pebble so I used my older Xperia which is still working. Then the pebble was also found by Rockpool on Dual Sim Xperia. But searching for apps and watchfaces does not work, searchin endless without result. On older Xperia no problem again.
I thought it could be a problem of the qt5-qtwebsockets which come orginally by SFOS so I used pkcon to install the one from openrepos. But still problem shown. Any Idea what I can do? Maybe still wrong qt5-qtwebsockets?

Any new version of Rockpool compatible with Rebble servers ???

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Hello,

maybe is this already mentioned somewhere in thread, but still, it might came handy for somebody :)

I had to make factory format on Jolla C (latest 2.2.0.29) and and also formatted Pebble Time Steel.

I initiated BT search on Jolla and when Pebble poped up, selected and confirmed pairing. Unfortunatelly, after a few seconds BT connection dropped. Rebooted Jolla, turned Pebble off -- no luck, pairing didnt't work.

Today I left searching for BT devices a bit longer and when came back there were 2 Pebbles listed:

- Pebble Time LE 4707
- Pebble Time 4707

1st one was the one that always appeared first, so I choose second one and to my surprise Jolla asked to confirm number code (which was not the case before) and after that - pairing was successfull.

So, if you have problem with pairing, leave BT search utill end and check, if there are more than 1 Pebble device listed :)

Firmware upgrade went OK (via Rockpool), but no watchfaces or watch apps are found :(

Unfortunatelly I don't have backup of previousely installed apps/watchfaces, so I'm stuck with default for the moment.

Rockpool is no longer working with the new rebble servers AFAIK. It seems that the developer is no longer supporting.

Not sure, but that probably depends if you signed up on rebble, connecting your pebble account, in due time. There were some info and warning on Rebbles site about this. Otherwise, it "should" work transparent.

Edit: Read this https://rebble.io/2018/06/13/get-ready-to-rebble.html

To sign up in time was needed to transfer personal settings. That's all. You should be able to register anytime. However, there is a new pebble firmware that you can download from rebble.io and I think flashing the watch with it is compulsory to use the new rebble servers.

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Hi
I do not see anymore events from my calendar in the watch.
From the logs, I can see:
"Unable to create calendar database directory: "/home/nemo/.local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal"

Could that be it? Otherwise any clue how to reset the calendar db in the pebble watch so that it connects again with the calendar in the phone?

To give a bit more details, I have plenty of entries in my calendar that are available in the phone and I used to see them in the watch by pressing the down-right button. Now I can only see watch alarms but nothing more...

PS: I use latest rockpool and everything else works ok

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Same problem here :(

Anyone tryed to flash rebble FW and than connect rockpool?

I am "thinking" about doing this, I dont have much to loose as watch is semi working with Jolla -- showing time and reminding me about calls. That's it, nothing more, I even don't have any watchfaces backup and can swap only between stock :(

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Just found reddit page with backup of pebble app store:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pebble/comm...the_app_store/

There is also page with tips about local configurable apps:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pebble/comm...our_favourite/

Haven't explored anything, yet.

I also connected my watch to android phone and updated with rebble 4.4.0 FW and later went back to rockpool, which successfully downgraded FW back to 4.3 :P

Need to test those damn watchfaces ...

Hmm, the Rockpool master has Rebble support since 2 months already (1.6-1), but no release in OpenRepos. Anyone willing to try and build it?

Bundyo 2018-11-11 13:51

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Ah, abranson uses OBS, so there are already built packages there:

https://build.merproject.org/package...sitory=armv7hl

Seems to be working... without the login and sub-pages (like All most loved watchfaces). At least more usable than before.

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

I notice that if I receive a call from a contact, the Pebble shows the contact name, but if it's from someone else it just shows "incoming call". Would it be possible to have it display the number, or is that something that would need to be changed on the Pebble side instead?

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

I am just trying to setup my Pebble Time Round (4.4.0) with Rockpool (1.6.1) on Sailfish (3.0.1.11) for Gemini PDA.
Pairing works if I connect to the "non-LE" occurrence of my pebble in the bluetooth devices, and confirm the pairing on the gemini first, and then on the pebble.

I can get apps and watchfaces from the rebble store, but login sends me to an old getpebble-URL
the URI from boot.rebble.io is not recognized on my device.

Great job on making this work!
any chance that the login can work?

cheers and thanks!

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

I had a bit of a plan to try and worm my way around he current issue of the settings pages for apps not allowing any input (thus rendering lots of apps useless as there's no way to, for example, login to Twitter via the webview).

I spent yesterday using my watch with an Android phone and configuring all the apps I would want - I then pulled all of the configurations from Android and have been left with a few directories that look very similar to the ones in ~/.local/share/rockpoold, however the directories are differently named (we have apps/ rather than app_jskit_installed_apps/ for example).

There's a folder in the Android directory named app_webview which seems to have all of the cookies related to the settings pages, would I be correct to assume if I copied these to the correct place in ~/.local/share/rockpoold I would have some automagically configured apps? :D

EDIT: Been working on this, probably a lot more than I should. The Android app Gadgetbridge seems to have a workaround for this, where it opens the settings pages in your regular browser then expects you to copy in the pebblejs:// url into the app. Maybe there could be a way to do this from Rockpool?

I've tried following some of the settings page url's in the standard browser, doing the configuration bits, then copying the ~/.mozilla/mozembed/ contents over to ~/.cache/rockpool/.mozilla/ but again not having much luck.

Any other crazy little hacks we could try? I'm sure something must work!

Hi, is there a way how to send notification to pebble? I think via dbus, but not to know how. Many thanks for your answer.

How does rebble support work? I have a Pebble Time Steel now (and my Pebble steel, which is half broken) and would like to start configure things (language e.g.). Calendar sync and notfications ist working fine.

After start (previous owner has factory reset it) it installs fw4.3 fine but no chance to create a rebble account or even use that login. I am using 1.7.1 from the mentioned repo.

Amboss 2019-05-06 09:05

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

It seems to me that the browser used by rockpool doesn't have js activated. Otherwise it would recognise switches and buttons and - most important - create the pebblejs uri that the framework of the watchface or -app is expecting on exit.

Thanks, my question was also aimed at having a permanent lookup possibility. As I am not using discord and my understanding was, that it is some "not-permanent" chat platform, isn't it less good because anyone who wants to know has to ask the same question all over again?

I kinda thought someone could point to a wiki or even explain it here.

I totally agree that having a static site where information can accumulate and be organized is much more useful. As far as I am aware however, that is not the case with rebble at this moment.

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

by the way, I noticed that version 1.9 is on github, does anyone know of a tutorial on how I can learn to compile the new version?

From merSDK wiki site it looks like it must be done under strict set of requirements: https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Pla...K_Requirements

before I throw myself into it ... Does anyone know if it is actually possible to compile on a 64 bit machine? (or maybe a raspberry pi?)

Bundyo 2019-09-12 21:21

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Not sure this will help since 1.9 is failing the builds in SailfishOS Open Build Service.

Sorry, hadn't noticed it had never had the QtWebKit requirement. New build on OBS and Openrepos (adding OBS repository is recommended)

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Could it be the new version crashes on the Watch Apps page, if there are apps installed which are not available in the store (anymore)? I had an own old experiment installed, and the app Transmission ({5a3de317-b050-4140-aa37-c85f19c446eb}), both are not in the store. When I manually removed them from the apps.conf, and from the directory, things went back to normal. I can see updates for other apps, and search the store etc.

[Edit]
Other than that, thanks or the update. I can finally manage the tokens in the Authenticator app :)

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Hi,

I wrote already to together.jolla.com about the bluetooth stuttering problem, but I thought to post the same observation here as well.

So, I have had a bluetooth audio problem for quite some time: every time I listen e.g. music with bluetooth headphones, I suffer from heavy stuttering in the audio every now and then.

I believe I have now managed to track it (at least in my case) down to Rockpool. I have noticed, that if I either stop the rockpoold background process, OR just open Rockpool UI and keep it open (seems to be enough to keep the daemon satisfied!?), the stuttering ceases. As if the daemon occasionally starts searching for watches to connect to, and that would cause the stuttering to the headphones audio?

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Just a note to inform that it seems I could connect my Pebble time steel with bluetooth LE with a Xperia 10+. I did not have to wait for the second bluetooth entry (non LE) to connect to.

Edit: actually the connection is less stable as I had to re-pair them twice already

Same happened here !? What's going on ??

Re: [Announce] Rockpool - Pebble daemon for Sailfish

Quazip got updated in 3.4.0, so probably the binary got renamed.

I guess Rockpool needs to be recompiled using the new SDK, which isn't available yet.

On 3.3 I get this:

Code:

[nemo@Sailfish ~]$ pkcon what-provides libquazip.so.1
Getting provides
Finished
Available      quazip-0.5.1-1.3.1.jolla.armv7hl (jolla)                        ZIP for Qt
Installed      quazip-0.5.1-1.3.1.jolla.armv7hl (installed)                    ZIP for Qt

but on 3.4 this then will probably fail.

Ok, so that is promising ? Is there anyone to do the recompiling, once that is doable ?
