Latin America, not South America (Latin America is a much, much larger area than just just South America). That being said, that's pretty impressive. For the first time in a long time, I have to compliment them on a doing a good job SOMEWHERE--now let's see how well they manage to keep a hold onto the Latin American market.

It will be interesting to see what happens now with MS and NOKIA as Balmer steps down. They need each other, and they need a new leader at MS. NOKIA has delivered with hardware, MS is still short on software.

Well, not necessarily for the good of Linux but they're contributing, right? :P heheh

Still no one is better that the other. Facts stays it all about business. So don't come say Google support linux because they are better than anyone else. Google is not some kind of a peace and love or your best friend company. They may very well hurt linux the same way as Microsoft. Just made me wonder what Stallman thinks about Google...

I'm not sure where you're going with this, but the point was that Microsoft's contributions to the kernel were completely useless to anyone outside of Microsoft's virtualization system. I didn't mention Google at all, but Google (among many others who were also scratching their own itch with their contributions) did contribute much code that wasn't strictly benefiting their own environments and products alone. Nobody was arguing peace and love, as far as I can tell. Were you trying to make some other point about Microsoft's contributions that I missed?

Nokia finally found a consumer group willing to use Lumias, barbary macaques.

I disagree, along with 97% of the world. If the software is better than Symbian and MeeGo, why does WP8 only have 3% market share? The figures don't lie
