Re: eCoach
The correct unit for energy is Joules.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joule So I hope the correct SI-unit for energy is then supported if there will be a step counter. For example the Pedometer Widget supports only calories. btw, co-operation with Pedometer author would be a UNIX way (one small tool for one job). Having dbus IPC to start, pause, stop and retrieve information from the Pedometer would save work and device memory. Also, I think the pedometer algorithms are not so simple, so having someone concentrare on that issue and not doing multiple times separate work would be beneficial. (OT: Same co-operation idea would work in FM-radio, recording and Recaller program.) |

I would also like to see support for maps from NLS (maanmittauslaitos) in the eCoach. They have great topo maps from all of the Finland for N800/N810 users of maemo-mapper and those maps can also be used in N900 Mappero. |
Re: eCoach
Good idea to get co-operation with different map-applications to have same place (and format) in a device to cache and store offline maps!

With NLS maps, i think i cant put url for that repository as a part of eCoach. At least with Maemo4 you first had to accept some agreement before installing and that plugin was closed source. Put of course i could let users to add it manually.. :) |
Re: eCoach
Firstly I love tha app, use it often, however have one probles, after I have saved a route and view it through calendar and/or ecoach the 'duration' time is always way off, about twice what it should be, despite the start and end time being correct, any ideas?

And please, don't forget a "car driving" profile when you're adding more. :) |

But the tracks are often totally useless because of the bad gps signal inside of buildings. And mostly this are only a few points several 100meters away from the last point. And tracking data on a map with a total of 50km in 6 hours and a topspeed of 62km/h during shopping is unreliable in the most cases... Why not simply set a maximum possible speed by profile and filter all totally impossilbe points automatically from the log? We don't need to delete it in the file. Just implement it in your loading routine and keep the data as they are. So we can still play with the filter settings or show up the original data without filtering. |

Maybe at least "Other". Now I am using "running" for all misc. stuff. IMO it is useless to mention Qt in every program's name where Qt is used. It should be irrelevant for the user what libraries has been used. |
