I take your point. The comment from somebody who has made over 1600 posts, yet been thanked only a quarter the times of that number - As somebody who has posted less than 200, yet been thanked three quarter the times of that number - I will refrain from feeding the troll.

I think chemist did a pretty good job (even though my weirdness response got excised). Despite the pages of slanging match in the middle, it would be good if this could get looked at. Tagging is a privilege. Removing the ability to tag is not curtailing freedom of expression, it is removing a privilege - which is different. It would also be good if the person who bought this to light this time could be encouraged to stick with the project. Some of us do appreciate these efforts.
