Nice review… It looks like maemo will be a major seller. I hope nokia has made some millions. I get the impression nokia was not ready for this successes.

Gigantti Finland says on its web pages that its N900 pre-order deliveries will begin on week 50.

I ordered through MPD and they said 16th/17th but also said they'll be sent from nokia so i emailed nokia today and this is what i got today..........

Hey, me too, my poor case has been sat here for five days waiting for a N900. I ordered the U-bop one from Amazon.

The belt loop keeps it on pretty well, and the flap is secured by a magnet making access reasonably quick and noiseless. I am actually so sad that I have been trying out the case round the house with just the foam place holder inside....

Hey guys! yesterday I called to the nokia Store in USA an they told me that the N900 arrives and is now in stores there!!!! But they are pakcing the n900´s and prepare the delivery to the people who pre-ordered the device on september and october and that people has priority!!!! The deliveries start tomorrow!!! :D

This one has a clip plus belt loops too (great for not slipping off when getting out of a car due to seat belt).

I have two and have worked great for one year now. Fits G1 with extended battery, so N900 should fit fine.

hello everyone i have been looking here for a few days now and finally decided to register.

cant wait for the release of the n900 however i have not preordered . i am going to london tomorrow and was going to see if i could pick one up in store.

does anyone know if this will be possible (and yes i know they may not be released tomorrow but for arguements sake lets say they are) or will i not be able to buy one in store until all preorders have been sent out or will they have extra for those walk in people like myself that want one.

also does anyone think that the voda packages offered including free web (fair usage at 512) is going to be enough for a always online phone or do you think that the 512 is going to be eaten up rather fast

Welcome to the forums. Nobody really knows, it all depends on how Nokia does it. Theoretically your suppose to fufill pre-orders before you start making it available in stores but I don't know how Nokia does it.

I'm betting it'll be OK for my usage, but that's going to be with the phone spending most of its time on WiFi, the 3G is only really an occasional fallback. If all your data is going over the 3G I think that you'll either go over the FUP, or you won't be using the N900 to its full potential.

FWIW I'm just going to get the phone SIM free and put it on a Vodafone 30 day contract, so if the FUP turns out not to be enough I can just switch to something else. I certainly wouldn't want to get locked into an eighteen month or two year commitment to a 500 Mb policy.

I received mine yesterday (the case) and I am very happy with the feel and quality. While designed for Palm devices, I believe, if my calculations are right, that it should be just fine for the N900. I can't wait to test it out. :D

4.37 x 2.35 x .77 in (110.9 x 59.8 x 18 mm)

Treo 600:
4.41" x 2.36" x 0.87" (112 x 60 x 22.1 mm)

Treo 700:
4.4" x 2.3" x 0.9" (112 x 58 x 22.9 mm)

Treo 750:
4.37" x 2.28" x 0.87" (111 x 58 x 22.1 mm)

Placing the device upside down should allow access to the power button and to the headphone jack without taking it out of the case. :cool:
