It's amazing how playable FFVII is but the sound is all janky.. Although, personally I'd rather smoku work on perfecting the emulation first and then concentrate on the audio as a second priority :D (just a suggestion)

FFVII doesnt want to play on my n900, runs slow on the intro showing, which you cant skip and crashes back to the desktop when it comes to the first fight.

Using psx4all version 0.3.9
Using Bios scph7502 but renamed to scph1001.bin
Cycle Multiplier 3
frameskip 1/2

Getting an average of 55 FPS with multiplier on 7 and fs on 0/1. It's not much fun since the audio is kind of all over the place.. For me one of the great things about playing FF games is the audio.. (Or any Squaresoft game for that matter :D )

You see the Playstation symbol when loading the game??? Is your Bios in /home/user/MyDocs/ ???

Can anyone help me please.

I've updated now to the new version of psx4all.

When enterning whatever game it is, the Playstation logo (Bios), doesnt appear anymore, and some games are much slower.

Does the bios location changed? What happens? Anyone could help?

Your BIOS now needs to be in /home/user/MyDocs/

So I just tried scph7502 (renamed to scph1001), and it seems to get one screen further - but still the game doesn't start. All the Sony crap loads, but never the actual game. All the stuff is in MyDocs as it should be, so I wonder what else I might be missing.

God knows... arent they 2 different BIOS's???

@Faze go to the location where you have your bios stored on terminal e.g. /home/user/ then type: mv scph1001.bin /home/user/MyDocs/

this should shift the scph1001 bios to MyDocs from the user folder.... hope this helps...

im guessing that 1001 is the first bios and 7502 is the latest/last bios.....

@Baron - Hmmm seems strange to me. Surely just renaming the BIOS does not change it to 1001?? Maybe in name but nothing else... Sorry if I'm wrong.. Can anyone confirm?

i guess psx4all is set up to use a bios with the name 1001.
so any of the numerous bios files would prob work when named to that.

i was just wandering if it was done for performance reasons or because certain bios' ran games that others didnt?

I have the same problem, press shift just crash the app, is that known problem?

Finally got time to install this and try it out, got me excited at first, but it definitely needs to make use of the 3D accelerator before being practical and to brag about.

Good work so far though, wish it can become a real playable one without overclocking and frames skip.

No, don't do it as root or you can screw your file permissions. Always try to do things as normal user first and if the terminal says "permission denied" or similar then you have to be root. If you always do things as root and mess up all the file and directory permissions, you will have problems very soon.

Found what the problem was i renamed it wrongly so it had .bin twice. Was lucky i had gpe file manager as the default file manager doesnt show you this.

Got it working but isnt at full speed but it works :)

If you have the .deb file on your N900 (if not go to post #1 and download it from packages and put it in N900 directory, you can choose that when you download), then find it and tap on it and hold. A pop up window should appear and then tap move. Then in the new window tap on the arrow in the upper left corner until you get to N900. Tap on that and the .deb file moves there.
Now you open x-term and make sure you are root (if not then download rootsh from extras rep.) and type the code from post #1 and that should do it :D
You will allso need bios and they are provided somewhere in this thread and where to put them are described in the first post ;)

I cannot add it without fixing a transition from emulation to GUI. And that is not easy to do regarding psx4all codebase.

You have .ecm extension on the first gt file, its some kind of way to compres the file to be smaller. You need to download a "unecm.exe" to your pc and then drag the file with ecm extension and drop it on unecm.exe and that makes a new .bin file you can play on the psx4all emu :)
