Umm... you really should dive into it before installing it (same goes installing stuff from devel where you got this latest Theme Customizer) since cssu is not yet ready and might have some bugs etc. that will cause harm and so on...

That's why I don't want to give direct DL link ;)

Welcome to Maemo. You'll find that reading up an anything you want to install onto your phone is crucial in terms of avoiding bricking your phone.

Being open source, there are a lot of programs that are in a development stage that could mess up your phone if you don't know what you're doing. D-Iivil stated this as well to explain why he declined to provide the link. You might find it more rewarding to read up on the programs before installing them as, at the very least, they will also help you better understand your N900.

This ain't no sissy iphone you got.

By the time you would have found it just by typing "community ssu" into your application manager.

Anyway, here it goes: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=67905

Sounds like you don't have extras-devel enabled in HAM (do you user fapman for package managment?) or you weren't connected to internet whily typing that.

What about the other command I gave? What's output of it?

After the last update version 09.73, i am not able to change App shortcut size and Web bookmark size - both shows my previously set values. Also the "show App shortcut background" check box is protected and i can't tick this field. any reasons for this?

After that give me output of this (no sudo gainroot here, so logout from root or open new x-term window):
/sbin/launchcustomizer "rebootnow"

If above is success, it should reboot.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have been side tracked for a coulpe of days, I have now reintalled TC as suggested, and ran the script but just get - "not found" .

Not sure what message I was suppose to get but the reboot has now started working again.

Thanks for your assistance and please keep up your famtastic work

I think it started to work because you got now updated version where I fixed the bug that caused TC not to function properly on some devices ;)

That's because you have CSSU installed and it comes with hildon-home that doesn't support those functions. Hopefully they will be soon added to the CSSU so I can re-enable those functions to CSSU users.

Hello all

I made a French translation for "CSSU Transitions Tuner", but i can't find a thread in the forum to put my file.

Sorry i send to you here.

For use:
1 Extract files
2 Put "French.qm" in "/opt/cssutransitionstuner/lang"
3 Simply start "CSSU Transitions Tuner" in Parameters.

lol, did I miss something?
Did d-iivil already changed the code to support multilanguage ?

I'll start the german translation, now.

Kudos!

//EDIT:
german translation added :)

//EDIT:
updated translation on next page.

Why is Theme Customizer depending on CSSU Transitions Tuner? It has no sense for most of the people, that still hasn't installed the CSSU.

Well... devel-repository ain't for most users anyway (or at least, it should not be). Will remove the depency and remove the "tune transitions" -button from TC. It indeed makes more sense.

x-lette 2011-03-10 16:50

Re: [Announce / WIP] Theme Customizer

Do you mean you'll completely remove transition support from TC? Please not!
Couldn't you check if Transition Tuner is installed and then offer the button? So people with tuner installed could still invoke it from TC.

Re: [Announce / WIP] Theme Customizer

As I haven't installed yet the CSSU I cannot test it by myself, but I wonder how are "Transtions Control" and "CSSU Transitions Tuner" overlapped or just complementary.

Actually already did that :)
But devel autobuilder seems not to co-operate, so I'll upload the package tomorrow.

Transitions Control allows to finetune specific speed values. CSSU Transitions Control is more adjusting CSSU specified stuff (and adjusting general speed of transitions).

Re: [Announce / WIP] Theme Customizer

Maybe it could be a dependency of CSSU, so CSSU new users will have it. This would need an agreement of CSSU people...

Njeh.. I'll just make both packages totally intepended. Users can then install what they want.

Re: [Announce / WIP] Theme Customizer

I installed the CSSU transitisions today and was freaked out  by how all my organization to my desktops has gone down the drain.
It is not because the CSSU transitions but because it disabled changes to hildon-desktop such as the icon background.

Also i would like to note that i have "simple brightness applet" installed and working fine until i installed CSSU transitions. Last time it was working i had the brightness on "4" and now i can't change it as the five buttons are now fused in one and the same as well in "Settings".

Are the problems related?
Can they be fixed?
Can i uninstall CSSU transitions if there was no fix?
All help is appreciated. thanks.

Hi, CSSU Transitions Tuner has nothing to do with issues you're having. It's the CSSU itself that causes:
- Theme Customizer loses it's ability to resize icons if you install CSSU
- Many ther users have reported brightess related issues after installing CSSU

Solution: ask for help @ CSSU thread on how to uninstall CSSU. After you get rid of CSSU you will be able to resize icons again and most probably your brightness will be adjustable again.

Or maybe better report a bug as "enhacement" to ask for add these characteristics to CSSU.

Emable extras-devel and then install it using HAM or Fapman or via x-term:
apt-get update
apt-get install cssutransitionstuner

Re: [Announce / WIP] Theme Customizer

Mate, I just noticed your transitions tuner wipes out all the comments out off my transitions.ini...

also it wipes out the following section I got in my file.
Code:

# These control the deceleration of the launcher pages.  When panning freely
# (decelerating) the velocity of the launcher page is adjusted by this much.
# strong_deceleration_rate is effective in the bouncing zones.  Uncomment if
# you want faster panning.
[launcher]
deceleration_rate = 0.98
strong_deceleration_rate = 0.7

Could you take care that it doesn't get erased?
Maybe you could also implement those settings in the cssu transitions tuner ?

Commented lines are wiped before saving new values because Qt cannot handle writing into .ini file well. It shouldn't remove anything else than lines starting with # character.

I can easily add the acceleration rate values to be adjustable.

Re: [Announce / WIP] Theme Customizer

Hi,

This application was working perfectly for me until today. In the middle of changing the theme, it froze so I decided to turn off my N900. Now that I have turned it back on, my fonts are so small. When I try to access theme customizer through settings, I cannot do that. As a matter of fact, I cannot access anything in settings right now. The background in settings is plain white as well as in conversations. Do I need to reflash my phone now? What is going on here?

Edit: I was running on CSSU with power kernel installed.

No need to reflash. Sounds like your current theme got corrupted for one reason or another. If you can't change theme with built-in tool, you can switch back to NSeries by typing this into xterm:
sudo gainroot
/usr/bin/personalisation /usr/share/themes/alpha

Then do a reboot and you should be running NSeries theme. Then you can uninstall and reinstall the theme you were using previously.
