Name it like the roms, but with png extension. Example: Code:

@JSTAR: I added the option to the emulator, not to the gui. There's no option in the gui to set ntsc/pal (auto is used as default) |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Is there support for .7z roms
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
octave no, 7z unpacking is very slow - use cbin , .z packing instead

How do i play games with 2-disks;when i run d second it asks me to insert d first disk.
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
octave right now, no way to do this ;-)
|
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators

I tried with .z and seemed to work nice. You can compress the roms using pocketiso (Windows): http://www.fpsece.net/download.html @octave: There's no way to change the disk now. You can only play multi disc games that let you save at the end of a disc and loads when you execute the other (like Final Fantasy VII - VIII - IX) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
The emulator is working perfectly.
Is it possible to stretch gpu-gles picture to wide (to fill the entire screen instead of 3:4)? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
impeham i see that it already should be always full-screen - iResX=800;iResY=480;
can you check another game? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Where's the thank you button in your posts Bonapart? o.O
Well, thank you! |

the graphics with gpu-gles is amazing for all games that work with it. bonapart - is there a place to check if the resolution set for this GPU (if it is in a seperate place) is 800x480? when using other GPUs with fullscreen it works on the entire screen of course. |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
What is BIOS? and What should I do with it?
 |

impeham wait for sakya answer, in code i see that gles should use fullscreen always, no matter how fullscreen switch is set Badee3 in core pcsx used auto setting, so gui is ok |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
google it
That didn't help me. :( does BIOS improve the game? or what? and does each game has a different BIOS? or it is for all games? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I'll check the gles fullscreen problem.
@Badee3: the bios is the same for all games (it's the bios of the Playstation) and it is needed for compatibilitiy. There are games that won't work without the original bios. As said with google is easy to find where to download it (search "scph1001.bin") |

Sakya - there is another issue i just found: Saving a game when using the gpu-gles crashes the game (i tried to do that with two games and they both crashed). the game is actually saved and can be loaded. |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
I've got a strange problem with blood omen. With all other video plugins except gles once you are at the main menu you cant use any controls. However with gles you can but it has graphical issues and it is to slow.
Not sure if it is easy to fix or not. If not its not a big deal since every other game I have works great. |

Hi Sakya,
the menu in Disney's Hercules is not appearing in PCSX-ReArmed core.while it appears in PSX4m core, but there is a lag and a glitch moreover, the screen keeps blinking. what is the problem? I have got the BIOS recently and many games work with it. |

One thing I have not seen mentioned in the thread is preferred format for the roms. Yes, psx4m handles most formats, but is there one that is more advantageous speed-wise than another? I have a bunch of old PSX discs, and I fired up PowerISO to extract an image of one of them, and PowerISO would only allow me to extract to a bin-image. If I extract the files manually I can of course make an ISO, but I can't set a sector option. bonaparte mentions in one post that only 2352-sector ISOs are supported by psx4m. Is this the default sector amount? Compressing the roms is only to the detriment speedwise I suppose, and done only to conserve space? In any case, I've learned that in that case, not to compress to 7z but rather to z, or just compress the ISO itself. Now, the first CD I extracted into a *.bin to try out was Ms Pac-Man Maze Madness. But when I select it in the GUI, pcsx just goes to a black screen indefinitely, and starts using 100% CPU. I've tried some different configuration options, and I have set the BIOS directory with the BIOS rom present. Should I just keep trying different configurations? Or could this be one of the games that simply don't work at all? I don't get any errors in the xterm output. I have also tried making an ISO of all the files on the disc, and even making an img-clone of the disc with CloneCD, but the result is the same: Black screen, 100% CPU. |

Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Thanks, I'll have a look and try it the terminal way ASAP.
Edit: Sucess! I got Pac Man World working by going the cdrdao route. But only by using PCSX-ReArmed. I'll rip some more games and fiddle around with the settings. ...and now Ms. PacMan works like a charm too. bonapart, thanks for bothering to reply, even though those were links I should've found on my own before making a post... ;) By the way, I am getting "Found L-EC error at sector xxxxx - ignored" with cdrdao on certain discs. But the images seem to work anyway. Nothing to worry about? |

Uploaded psx4m-gui version 0.4-6.14.5
Changelog: * Added memory cards editor (to clear used slots) * Added option to set the memory cards * Added options to set reverb and interpolation (pcsxrearmed only) * Added option to set the PSX region (pcsxrearmed only) I also updated psx4m and psx4m-gles to add the option to set the memory card file to use (so the two emulators will use the same memory cards) Screenshots: http://s7.postimage.org/5h0t3urez/screenshot_1.png http://s15.postimage.org/nzpdcf12j/screenshot_2.png |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Wow! it's amazing how far this emulator has gone thanks to Bonapart and Sakya (and of course Notaz, etc).
I'd only wish Mupen64 could receive the same amount of love. The GUI is terrible to map the keys and it's quite unstable. |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
wow sakya, thank you so much! we really needed a memory card editor.

I've compressed an image as instructed, generating a .pbp extension. Since psx4mgui doesn't recognize this extension, i renamed it to .iso and tried to run it, but i only got a black screen and game does not load... Am i doing something wrong? |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
Hi guys just passing by to say THANK YOU very much bonapart for this brillant project you really rock, and thank you very much sakya for keeping this project alive grazie!!!

Btw I din't even know that pcsx-rearmed supports psp's eboot. :) I'll add the extension to the gui. In the meantime you can try to launch your game from the terminal: Code:
/opt/maemo/usr/games/pcsx -bios scph1001.bin -bdir /home/user/MyDocs/ -fullscreen -cdfile FullPathToYourPBP http://fpsece.net/download.html @B-RUNO: prego. ;) |
Re: [Announce] Sony Playstation 1 Emulators
you can simply rename you image eboot.pbr to game.bin and load it using gui ;-)
ivgalvez i had tried to compile it today; i'll try to modify gui at least soon ;-) |
