Yeah you gotta wait 1-2 minutes because the normal apps you install are not allowed to startup right away, it delays them a bit. I will worry about this once we are sure it's not got any other problems.

LOL

1300mhz @1300000 sr on seems stable for me:)

btw latest beta is awsome:) haven't encountered any problems what so ever :)

edit--- seemed stable until trying to install some apps. Guess 1300000 mv is to low for 1300mhz. atleast for me:)

each profile wants 2 test from 10000 iterations to alow to startup

have you already install it?

ceroberts75 2012-05-09 17:45

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

yes. i installed with the debs in the order posted on 1st post.

incepted first, then clicked on both deb files 1.5.3 first then 1.0.1 for the ui.

all three installed fine.

opened the ui, no problem

all seems fine until i opptimize. it will not test.

do i need to use terminal to install? if so, i can uninstall and reinstall.

ibrakalifa 2012-05-09 17:47

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

i uninstalled and have tried this following.

open xterm
devel-su
rootme
incept /home/user/MyDocs/opptimizer_1.5.3_armel.deb

i received this error

sh: incept: not found

besttt 2012-05-09 17:52

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

you must enable the inception not only install
after install the inception deb file do this open terminal and type comand
devel-su -c /usr/sbin/pasiv now incept is enable

open terminal again
devel-su then enter
pass = default rootme and is hiden then enter
(put the armel.deb files at MyDocs and hit)first
/usr/sbin/incept /home/user/MyDocs/opptimizer_1.5.3_armel.deb enter and then /usr/sbin/incept /home/user/MyDocs/opptimizer-ui_1.0.1_armel.deb enter and done thats it but dont forget put the .deb files at MyDocs folder and after the incept to /home leave space incept space /home

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

thank you.

done. installed...

TESTING!

;)

1200@1350000 seems ok...so far.

scrolling seems smoother.

i tested it twice as suggest above, but the start at reboot still is not an option.

edit: oh...i changed the toggle for custom and 1200 @ 12125 crashed. maybe from downgrade.

afer a reboot, it tested fine at 1200 @ 12125

EDIT..again: scratch that. it didnt like the 1200 @12125 after second test and is now rebooting again. lol.

after long testing i found the best and perfectly stable setup for my n9.
I found that others setup are stable, but no one like this:

1300 mhz 1375000 SR On

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

1,15ghz with stock voltage also stable

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.0.1]

Okay well there was one bug I fixed -- the voltage was not reloaded from the saved settings when you switched betweeen profiles. I think that's just confusing you guys so some of the other stuff you said is probably caused by that. I will put a new version 1.2.0 in the first post now, please try it and see if it's working as expected.

i updated to new version.
created profile1(default) and profile2(1350MHz).
but when i select profile1, in status it still shows 1350(profile2) even after refresh. but in settings it shows profile1. how to switch between profiles?

Creamy Goodness 2012-05-09 20:54

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

you have to hit the red button or it's not going to apply the settings

for me exactly the same...
black N9 16gb, initially distributed by some Polish provider (Centertel Poland, if I`m not mistaken) with no access to PR1.2 as of yet, I flashed it with Central EU image PR1.2 once I got hold of it...

Is it completely dead? Did he visit some Nokia Care, even though there`s supposedly no support for N9 in the US?

He explained it on irc to some of us, basically he was typing a text and it restarted and refused to turn back on after that. It acts totally dead, nothing happens when plugs it in with usb, holding the power button for a long long time, etc.
I'm not sure he's decided where to send it, it's hard to find a place in USA.

I see and am sorry for him...
complete flash didn`t help, neither?
I guess the best thing would be to send the phone to the EU (some supported country), arrange all things directly with some Nokia Care person and take a look at it...
where did he get the phone? for what market was it initially distributed?

tricky is that people over here actually do overclock their phones with higher freq without any such issues, so why exactly this one device?
I myself got into reboot with lower voltages, too, but nothing such catastrophic...it went back and worked again...
I don`t see any reasonable probablity for such behaviour with only one chip...
hmmm

he can't flash it because it isn't detected as a usb device by the computer now. I'm not really sure what he plans to do.

no, it doesn't unload the current settings when you restart the phone though. you have to crash it or hold the power button in a while to get it to actually shut off. normally the n9 never turns off.

3 x 1000 = 3000. It clearly says it needs 15,000 iterations to allow apply on startup, so I don't see a problem with what you said.

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

OK, installed the new .deb files (thx Lance).
Starting with 1300MHz and 1350000 SR on. Saved as profile 1. ;)
3000 test iterations took 20secs

5apps open and played some Angry Birds, phone stays cool. For some reason my Conky doesn't give temp, well it stays @ -1

Creamy Goodness 2012-05-10 02:06

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

Sorry, I am not sure why Conky would not show the temperature. Old version or something?

eerde 2012-05-10 03:43

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

Conky is version 2.0.0-1 thought that was the latest... but just now I read this:
Quote:

conky (2.0.2-1) unstable; urgency=low
* got temperature working again by talking to bme directly
OK Conky installed ! Temperature shown and it's just 31.9 C. and after some heavy Angry Bird use 32.9 C. all fine :)

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

It seems to work well for me , I've done some tests and made 2 profiles .

My suggestion is to add some extra tweaks like sampling rate , uptreshold , governor and available frequencies .

I have one question , what oppui turns off when I select to disable SR ? I mean sr1 or sr2 ? I'm asking this because I was thinking the old version 1.5.3 caused reboots with a lot of frequencies because maybe it disables only sr1 or sr2 . Via x-terminal I was disabling both sr1 and sr2 , that's why I think it was stable with terminal and not with oppui .

Great work Creamy :)

hey Creamy Goodness what about when the pr 1.3 comes? does the opptimizer works or not we have to unistall it to take the new update?

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

^ mate isn't that a question he can answer only after pr1.3 is released?
AFAIK Creamy doesn't have a n950 so he'll have to rely on Arie and others to inform about this situation after pr1.3 is released to n950 users first.

Creamy Goodness 2012-05-10 17:45

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.3] [ui v1.2.0]

I have an n950 actually, they gave it to me for writing Conky and Proximus. Don't worry about PR 1.3, inception will need to be updated, and this will maybe need a recompile.

Make sure you wait 2 minutes then hit refresh to verify it's not loaded on boot.
There are a huge number of safety checks but it doesn't log the reason it aborted the overclock yet. If you just run the daemon from the command line it will tell you why though. Just type /opt/opptimizer/bin/OptDaemon, and tell me what the last thing it says is. (I think I see the bug here anyways, complicated to explain but don't worry I will fix it soon)

Yeah when I have time we can add some more features, as for the smart reflex stuff, sr2 is for the graphics , not cpu, right? So i'm not sure why I would touch that at all.
