After last update something is wrong with busybox-power: ereswap says "iostat applet not found", yamas can't scan hosts etc.

I fix them by installing busybox-power from thumb repo by dpkg.

Aah, I thought that you're saying there is no difference compared to non-thumb :)

Well, don't expect miracles, with every release there are just a couple of thumb-compiled packages added, so the effect accumulates, it is not a jump. Though there is difference, launch camera-ui and compare the time it needs to show the preview with the time it needed before. Subjectively of course.

i tried to reproduce the problem and checked for "/var/log/syslog" but wasn't there (i used the console option of the (great) backupmenu).
i tried to look for an explanation for this "framebuffer console driver" both in this forum and google, but haven't found anything - can someone point me to some commonly used guide?

the camera-ui is a very good example: just tested it and it really seems faster. tks once again for allthe good work.

Say "thank You" to mainline (non-thumb) CSSU maintainers, who don't want to include busybox-power in CSSU, despite fact, that:

[rant]
a) it can't be distributed "properly" outside CSSU - current version in extras do binary file replacement via postinst script, so it will always cause problems in situations like we're facing now...

b) busybox-power is upstream busybox (with all bugfixes), ported to Maemo, with respect to Maemo-specific patches (i.e, no regressions, only benefits).
[/rant]
---

So, summing it up - send (valid) complains to CSSU team (so they'll have chance of putting them into /dev/null , sadly), as it have nothing to do with thumb.

I know what's the problem: merlin's repo doesn't have a label set. And I don't see any way to apt-pin it...

I notified merlin1991 about that.

@llucax - this is just a warning, you may safely ignore it. Otherwise I don't know which is the key that michaaa62 has posted (michaaa62, no offence, I just don;t know :) ), but thumb repo is signed with merlin1991's key. If you trust merlin1991, then add his key :P

@freemangordon: Please do not mix those posts. The commands just fix the complaint of apt-get about unauthenticated packages in this post http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=709 of llucax, nothing more, nothing less. That is, why i quoted the post i was referring to!
The commands have nothing to do with bootable or unbootable device.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

Upgraded from thumb16 to 5.1thumb0.
Maemo unbootable. Reflashed.

The dots on boot did not appear, but the keyboard light went off when I slid down the screen (and on again when I slid it back up).

Before reflashing, I tried using RescueOS to see what went wrong, and I still have no clue what happened. Upstart's "system-services" and ipconfig weren't upgraded, but I doubt there were any changes those packages that made the system bomb out.

@freemangordon
re rant: sorry that it happened in Your thread :) My main goal was to explain, why it is not related to thumb flavor at all. No worries, no "war wish" there - it is just opinion, let alone fact, that I've totally lost interest in how mainline CSSU is going to be developed/maintained.
---

re constructive things:

After upgrading thumb via Your script (latest, fixed), package:
system-services

...is left as upgradeable (manually). Installed version is 0.3.8-67+0m5, while candidate for installation is 0.3.8-68+0cssu0.

I've ensured, that I had both community-testing and thumb repos enabled. It looks like package from mainline CSSU was left not upgraded, while using thumb upgrade script. Or is it just me?

Yes, I used the script, run as root, not under sudo.

Also, reflashed and am running 5.1thumb0. All's well over here.

To have the pin work as it should (cssu thumb as the most important source)?

Thanks

It was a problem of cssu-testing repo not enabled (only thumb one). It should be explicitly said that both repos are needed.

Btw. merlin replied, and pinning can be done by
Code:

CSSU Thumb is based on CSSU Testing != You need both repos. There might be all the stuff in one repo :)

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

E: Broken packages

Try to remove libqtm-12, BUT keep track if packages will get also removed to install them later again.
then upgrade,
then reinstall libqtm-12

I have stated it on IRC but have to write it also here.

Thumb from freemangordon is the best thing in the world (of course after sliced bread) for the N900 :)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

Having recently migrated to thumb2, I'd like to test fennec 17.0a1, but I have a segfault after "content loaded" is printed in my terminal.
I can think of two things that may cause this:

First, ldd /opt/fennec/*.so|grep found gives me the following relevant lines:
/opt/fennec-17.0a1/libnss3.so: /usr/lib/microb-engine/libnssutil3.so: version `NSSUTIL_3.13' not found (required by /opt/fennec-17.0a1/libnss3.so)
/opt/fennec-17.0a1/libsoftokn3.so: libmozsqlite3.so => not found

Second, I have libqtm-12 1.2.0+git20111104-0nd~fremantle5 installed: is it the right version to use or should I downgrade to another version ?

Remove /home/user/.mozilla/fennec directory and try again to run fennec. And make sure you don't run it as root
