Here is what I consider a pretty interesting retrospective review of what happened at NOKIA. The complexity of many issues, as well as the dysfunctionality of both Symbian and Maemo/Meego teams lead me to believe that the burning platform was needed to realign everyone on the same page....

No one is after resurrecting the all mighty symbian though it is a mighty os i agree. ;) But the next step after symbian was definitely a linux mobile os. Not a crippled windows metro ui. Also they delivered meego harmattan n9 in merely a year. The time between nokia-intel settlement and the deal break. That's pretty fast. Apple delivered the iphone in three years. Also the the origin, the first version of symbian^3 is s60v3 which was announced back in 2005. Which is almost a complete different os from the versions 6.x 7.x and 8.x. the iphone aka project purple was announced at 2004. |
