i honestly dont think so

my main concern is to tether with tmobile pay as you go phone service

I FOUND ALL THE ANSWERS CONCERNING T-MOBILE CUNGULAR AND ALL THE OTHER COMPANYS THAT ALLOW AND DONT ALLOW TETHERING ON THE NXXX SERIES

Can I just add that I've done a video tutorial showing exactly how to tether the 5300 to the N800:

However, as others have pointed out here, your phone network operator may have additional restrictions on people using the internet through their phones, and you may have to pay them an additional fee in order to remove these restrictions.

If you can't get the method in the tutorial to work, contact your network operator to see if there's an additional fee for tethered internet access.

Thanks for this information. I have a Nokia 6133 on order which is EDGE compatible. When entering the information above, would i enter EDGE instead of GPRS?

Hi, I tried this with my Motorola L7 and also Motorola KRZL and it had said connected to the phone via bluetooth but i cannot pull any webpages... when i tried the URL "www.wikipedia.org" all it said was

"internal error. You do not have access to the site in www.wikipedia.org"

What does this usually mean?

EDIT: sorry to post on a thread of Nokia 5300 but I found that i have to get on tzones from the phone first to make it work on the N800... weird but i cannot figure out another way.

You might wonder (I don't know) if the roaming *costs* the same as it does in the US. I have a friend who was using his flat-rate data service in Canada and discovered that he had an awesome bill when he got home. He got the company to take $200 off, but that was about 1/3 of the total charge I think.

So if I have the $20 plan, I can use it via the phone and it will work faster/better? I don't mind paying the $20 *if* I get a service I can use for it. Right now, I just don't spend that much time in Starbucks, but if I can use it on the street via the phone, it would be worth it.

I just upgraded from the $5.99 to $19.99 plan yesterday. Yeah, the new plan is faster than the old one, but definitely not anywhere near wi-fi speeds. Right now, I'm getting about 60kbps.

I got it because the old plan was too slow --- I'd spend 1/2 hour in my car price shopping with my N800 tethered to my phone. Something like that should have taken me 5 minutes at home. If this plan doesn't work out to my liking, I just may have to bite the bullet and go back to the cheaper and slower plan.

Of course, the other advantage of the $20 plan is that you can now connect to the T-Mobile hot spots.
