Re: Cell phone as Internet Tablet accessory
1) Over in the "Accessories" forum, I posted this a couple weeks ago; it's a round-up of mobile routers. They're mostly fixed devices, but there are various "battery add-ons" you can get for them. The last one, though, is working on a battery version, and a GSM version. That could work.
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=11343 2) If these little gems had a BluetoothDUN+HSDPA version, then the 5 button version might be a perfect "just an accessory for my PDA" device (esp. if the 5 buttons worked with t-mobile "5 myfaves"): http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/1...ild/1#c8865465 I send Doro's sales team a suggestion for exactly that. Adding Bluetooth (DUN and PAN) to it, and HSDPA/HSUPA/EDGE/GPRS. I bet they don't have it now, because that's not the chosen market for those devices (and, they don't have the right UI for anyone to think of using the devices directly with data feeds) ... but that one change could give them an entirely different market to capture. |
