In theory it should work, and certainly host mode works - I've used it to access memory cards. I tried an USB Ethernet adapter and that didn't work though. Specifically, a communications class driver needs to be present in the N800/N810 for it to work, as well as some sort of dialer application for the USB modem.

Where did you get it at that price? Buy.com has it for $429.99 but I'll save the $10. Anyone know of anyplace even cheaper?
