I picked the 2-day shipping but i guess it doesn't matter... If it take significantly longer, can I file a suit against them? Not that I would, of course.

You need to read the fine print. 2-day shipping usually means from time of departure. Order processing is typically not included. Delays are common with new devices (heck even some "old" ones, like the Wii) so distributers tend to cover themselves with policy.

Ordered mine from Walmart of all places (only place I could find that had one in-stock)... $459 + $15 for over night shipping... had it in 5 days (which included the weekend)... nothing special on the price, but they did get it to me fast...

The N800 can be had for the bargain price of £129 in the UK now. At that price it's an absolute steal. Re. the comments about Palm OS, I think that's really down to the Lifedrive...the Palm OS was never really meant to run off a hard drive...I'm really impressed with the responsiveness of the Palm OS on my Treo680 phone. It does what it's meant to reliably and quickly.

i bought mine on amazon and had it in my hands within 48 hours -- and this was 2 weeks ago. if amazon shows the item in stock it is and they are super shippers.

Well Dell just replied, it's getting shipped on Jan. 7th. So it will get here by Jan. 8-9th because I used the two day shipping... big difference that makes:(

It's safe to say I'm not buying from Dell anytime soon again:D

just wondering, when did you exactly place your Dell order? I ordered mine on Nov 27th and have yet to hear about a shipping date. I think they've forgotten about me!

FWIW I ordered Dec 5th and have a January 2nd ship date currently. Just login there and check your order status. And hope it's correct :)

that's Dell for you....I'm amazed I'm still sticking it out with them after two delays. They've got me down for the 2nd as well, but I was hoping that you received something from them more concrete that would give me faith that they actually were about to ship them out within the next week or so. Just my luck, I'll cancel my order, place one with another store, the Dell one will ship and my other order will end up getting delayed. Here's the sad part, I've got the 4GB SDHC mini memory card, the screen protector, an N810 case and a better car mount for the car dash and no damn N810. Maybe if I stop ordering the accessories, I'll finally get the Nokia.

Did you actually find a case made for the n810, or just something generic? I'm sort of wondering it there will ever be a decent case made for it, given the keyboard.

Re: Order placed WARNING: POINTLESS RAMBLING

I went to ebay for one of siemshop's leather cases. I had ordered a pda case from them in the past and I really liked the quality, the fit and it doesn't look cheap. They have three options for the N810; one looks like it incases the unit completely like it does for the N800 which is of no use to me, the other is a simple pocket slide. I went for the book version because it allows the keyboard to be opened without any restrictions. I'm actually still waiting on it being delivered, but I'm sure I'll receive it a heck of a lot sooner than the N810.
