Also, note that the tableteer site provides a means of giving Nokia direct feedback on language issues if you encounter any.

Hi

This is for Korean fonts. It failed after following the instruction in this thread. I've copied Korean fonts in Windows XP (Gulim..)

What I did:
1. mkdir /home/users/.fonts/
2. cp -i /media/mmc2/fonts/*.ttf /home/user/.fonts/
3. Reboot the device
4. open the browser: www.google.co.kr --> no success..

Any help?

Try copying the fonts to /usr/share/fonts/korean

You can then run (as root) fc-cache /usr/share/fonts/korean

Re-launch the browser and everything should be OK.

You mean write Japanese on the 770 (or N800)? I seriously doubt that; you would have to carry the Japanese input program that exists on Linux proper to Maemo somehow, which would be a serious undertaking.

I don't believe we'll get that until Nokia finally decides to release the N800 (or successor) in the Asian markets...

Hello;

I've tried to copy TTF file to /usr/share/fonts/ or /usr/share/fonts/nokia but failed with 'Permission denied'.

What I did as below:

/ $ sudo gainroot
/ $ cp -i /media/mmc1/*.ttf /usr/share/fonts
--> CP: unable to open ' /usr/share/fonts/tahoma.ttf' : Persmission Denied

Any further help???

gainroot does not work for me either, so I tried this and it worked:
/ $ dbclient root@127.1

A warning message will be displayed, confirm and it will prompt you to enter root password, type "rootme" and you are root!
