Re: Browsing Windows Shares in 2008
You cannot browse shared folders that require authentication. Hopefully, that will change in time.

Re: Browsing Windows Shares in 2008
Viewing and browsing windows xp-shares on my N810 worked from the beginning with the inbuild filemanager. I have copied some files from my xp-notebook over wifi.
After having installed some applications, it isn't possible anymore. I have tried often, but don't work. Pinging my xp-pcs was and is no problem after becoming root on N810, but the filemanager doesn't see the shares anymore. Any adice? |

During installation, it will ask for a root password. That's all you have to do on the tablet end. You now have a SSH server and client installed. Install Putty on your PC - this is for command line access to your tablet from a Windows PC. To setup the connection you enter either the hostname of the NIT or its local IP. You login as root, and can execute commands in the tablet. You can browse to your memory cards by: cd /media/mmc1 or cd /media/mmc2 For something more sophisticated (GUI), I think I downloaded EngInSite DataFreeway once to try out. I don't use my XP box to SSH into my tablet often, I do that mostly from my Ubuntu Server. |
Re: Browsing Windows Shares in 2008
We have two windows computers on our network and I can see shared files from XP but not from w2k. I can see the shared w2k computer from File manager but it says (no files/folders) when accessing it.
I'm not sure if it's because of the OS or the firewall (Sygate). Any ideas how can I get this work? ... I can answer this myself. It was the Sygate firewall. |
