It has ATRAC DRM support. Just in time for the closing of the Connect store! I would love to play around with one and see how the NetFront browser works.

Bleh. Please don't open that can of worms here.

(I agree with the "no subverting the spirit of the GPL via patents" aspect of GPLv3 ... but I don't agree with the part of the GPLv3 that nixes the idea that Tivo and Sony should be able to have partially GPL'ed products, as long as they fully honor their obligations with respect to the GPL'ed parts, and obey the rules about how to draw distinctions between GPL and non-GPL parts ... and as far as I know, neither Tivo nor Sony have failed in this regard, they simply aren't opening up the pieces which aren't GPL'ed; I think that is both fair and appropriate for Tivo and Sony)
