sounds in OS2008 was designed wis stereo speaker in mind, and 770 only has mono speaker, and AFAIK, it is the main reason for this low volume. Sound on N810 is ok. This is a software issue.
Nokia is not interested in anything related to "outdated" devices (<N900)

Coming with 2008He OS Nokia did great job.

Do you suggest 2 x 4 OHm vs. 1 x 8 OHm problem ?

As 2008He comes with
GPS location and I have got an external GPS bt device,
tell me what is a use of GPS location from control panel.
Can it be used as Geolocation in Google Maps, MaeMaps apps ?

hi,

yesterday I've get 2008he a second try. I really like it, and I think it is fast enougth.

The problem is the sound, the reason I give up the first time.

Today I solve this problem... its really simple...

echo 100 > \
/sys/devices/platform/audio-i2c/driver/audio-i2c/volume_left
echo 100 > \
/sys/devices/platform/audio-i2c/driver/audio-i2c/volume_right

You deserve free N900 from Nokia for your solution.

+ - volume controls are no more functional

Next turn is how to start video player and overcome codecs missing problems.

I mean top "+" "-" switch.
Tested once again
and it worked for Radio applet
and didn't for media player.

After switching off and on, sound is low as before.
So the above shell code lines should be run as a shell script
on system start up, every time 2008He is down and back up.

Tested today BBC Radio 1 and sound is low either played as an applet
or via Media Player.

Yesterday played much louder after setting 100 to volume levels.

It looks like your solution is excellent but my 770 keeps crashing.

My 770 also crashes, but not more than with 2006 or 2007he.

My 770 works with OS2006.
I try to find the OS2007HE or OS2008HE at the WWW.
All links are down, server are not in service.
Can somebody help to get software?
