I just don't want to get hung up, after running the disc, and wonder how find the file.

Thanks again.

easiest way would be to download the flasher to the c: on your computer. Then its just a case of mounting (don't use Ubuntu so I don't know how it shows drives, or mounts them) the proper drive. Open a term window, cd to the proper directory /mnt/hda1/C would be my guess. ls (LS) will tell you what is in the directory (think dir). then it would be the same as the howto.

Hey guys. I'm a newbie as well in Linux...

I did the whole process entring the differents lines in Ubuntu running on VWplayer on WinXP.

The problem arrives when I enter :

./flasher --enable-rd-mode --reboot

I get "Suitable USB device not found, waiting"

Can't get it to do anything... I've tried to click on the USB device bar on top (it does appear there !) but it stands still.

I think that the issue is with VWplayer. I susppsect that the host os is interfering with the guest os, and not allowing it to access hardware properly.

The typical fix for this (if you read through the thread) is to get a live cd, and flash through the live cd. Great thing about live cds is that you don't have to install, they run straight from the CD. There is even a live cd version for Ubunut (shudder).

Thanks, i'll try this out. Sorry if my question had already been answered ; I didn't understand everything on other posts.

Thanks again.
