Does Modest allow Gmail pop email access?
After entering the same settings as Green_N above I cannot retrieve or send emails. The Modest client doesn't report any errors. Checking for emails doesn't show any new email (despite sending a test email which it should have picked up) and sending emails just go the outbox and are marked "Fail". I know most members prefer and recommend IMAP but can anyone confirm that pop should work (or indeed that they have it working) ? |

googlemail is incorrect, as stated above. There is no such thing, it's gmail.

I have the same problem and I've tried also to get my Email on n810 but futile!!!! plz can any body here explain where is the mistake in this setting for Gmail... |

POP3 on modest didn't work for me too. Now I use claws mail which is less hassle and works without problems on gmail.

Good but write here plz the setting of Gmail exactly because I've tried on claws but futile!!!
my email is the new vesion of Gmail I mean it's Name@googlemail.com but not name@gmail.com,is it tha same? |

I gave in and tried IMAP.
Same story - doesn't work and doesn't give any errors. Oh well......... |

My username doesn't include '@gmail.com', just the part before @. Have you tried it that way?
