Re: Help on a couple of Accessory choices please.

Actually, *you* have helped me, I've just ordered me a couple of Boxwave screen protectors on your recommendation. Now I'm off to evaluate PSP or Franklin Covey cases to see if I can find one I like, as per Wes D & ace's suggestions.

"September" is correct.

For those who avoid Google, since it's "some blank page with a search box in or something."

Helpfulness, positivity, toleration, love, compassion, generosity and understanding those are the things you take to heart, 'effective posting procedures'.... not so much.

:) That was a very good one Alpha4.

And by the way, I've never understood those people like GeneralAntilles and the other from above. Don't you think that instead of writing so much un useful information ( like links that you have to go and search for hours to find something ; and explanations of what this person wrote) you could have just written the information that Alpha4 was searching for ??!! Please think about this next time when you answer questions. It's more useful and easier for everybody !

No, sorry, it's actually not.

Re: Help on a couple of Accessory choices please.

Give a man an answer, you help him for 5 minutes.
Show him where to find the answer, you help him for the rest of his life. (Or rather, until someone else would have slapped him with a search engine anyway, I guess; so let's say maybe a month instead.)

Which is better, from the same investment of your time?
  • Help him for 5 minutes (with one answer, to a question where one answer can't sum it up; there will be differences of opinion on screen protectors and cases, and reading a thread is way more help than reading one reply)
  • Help him for at least a couple weeks, with the same ''harsh'' manner that he will run into then instead?
<shrug /> We each have to make up our own mind, and if you feel that it's really more useful for everyone to post the info (and increase SNR for those who are searching, BTW), that's your choice, and you can do it; but it seems really odd that you think it's more useful even to post nothing but criticism of those trying to help (not so much as a search link, and that itT custom search is jolly useful, at least for me) than to post your advice on cases and protectors.

agreed wit GA's response, above. If you come to me hungry and I give you a fish, you'll eat today and be satisfied. Tomorrow, you'll likely be hungry again, and may very well come back to where you previously had success in solving an immediate problem, and ask for another fish. If, on the other hand, I teach you how to catch your own fish, I've helped you to become self-sufficient in solving that sort of problem on your own, without further intervention or guidance from me. See?

...and, regarding that September -- I had a hand in connecting a large online service up to the internet, at around that same time... but it wasn't that online service!! (it was the one ranked right next to it on the list of large online services, though. our users were net-savvy, though! ;))

Yes, sorry about that, Just a bit of indulgent sarcasm I'm afraid. It's not big and clever, but I am prone to it occasionally.

Anyhoo.. AS I said in my original post, I did search (ref DS-Lite case) but did not find a definitive answer. So I thought I'd seek specific advice from IT owners who had first-hand experience and knowledge of the two items I am interested in.

I guess that forums imitate real life; some people are helpful and some are not. I should learn to acknowledge the help from the former and ignore the latter. Sometimes I can't resist though...;)
