Can't help with the mplayer right now, no linux in sight :(

Why don't use Cairo PNG rendering to show 24bit PNGs with alpha?

Works great!

Has the new version changed the ways saved files are displayed. The old version displayed the saved files in the order they were saved/played. The new version does not seem to display the files in any order. They seem to be all scrambled up.

python-cairo was missing from os2007he or something like that.

indeed, there is no order now (never was).

there will be playlists (categories) for saved movies (i will use this to store music videoclips and play them later with/without -vo null), this will require 1-2 order methods.
