New or old? It's plenty quick here.

There should be at least one dark theme. I bet most ITT users already developed vampiric vision + most distributions already have dark themes and white content looks like a hole in the browser.

Yes, please have a full-featured dark theme for the following 4 reasons:
  • Battery and eyeball conservation
  • To match the Maemo 5 SDK Alpha
  • Me
  • Bundyo
Thanks

New maemo.org theme (on N800 MicroB):

To load my profile 23 seconds (about 14 after CPU spikes to 100)

To load my profile with Minimalistic Theme at ITT :

4 seconds (or less).

And just a few weeks ago I inverted my Avatar to look better on a dark background!

Ahh! :D

Just to clarify: On LCD screens (such as those in the tablets, and on most desktops), white uses less power than black, and in general light uses less power than dark.

The opposite is true for CRT and OLED screens, but those are still/already in the minority.

I like it. Do you have a simple recipe for doing stuff like that in The Gimp? None of the demos look that good.

What about the eyeball power usage? :)

Interesting, thanks for the info. I wonder then if the Maemo 5 SDK isn't a precursor for a RX-51 CRT surprise. No... scratch that... I meant OLED surprise.

The Sony part number points to a transflective display.
